I wasn’t happy with how my character looked and since there is no barber or anything in this game… well, the only option to change your character’s looks is to delete and start over.
However, there is one giant problem with that: AGS does not let you! Delete your character and you are banned from that server until things open up again, even though you made room for your character by freakin’ deleting the original!
So now stuck on some random low pop, no future server until AGS figures out how MMO’s work…

i totally agree on the part that the game needs a barber so we can change the hairstyle or the facialhair. Remaking a character even if you have several hours already played is just bad.
They didnt Bann you from the server. The servers were closed for new characters. Also there are servers with high pop who allow new characters. Server transfers are also confirmed and should be arriving this week according to AGS twitter post.
I suggest you inform yourself before you go ahead and do something drastic as deleting your character to avoid these problems in the future.
PS. Dont blame AGS for you rushing character creation and forfitting your server spot.
I knew you can’t make new characters, as in new players can’t join the server. However when you delete and remake your character, it is not taking a new spot on the server at all. The fact this is impossible reeks of bad decision making on AGS part.
You have no barbershop in the game and no means whatsoever to change the looks of your character. The hats didn’t work with the hair I used (kept bugging out making my character grey instead of red haired).
So yes I blame AGS because AGS has messed it up. In every other mmo I played before, when you deleted your character you make room for a new one. AGS is apparently incapable of working things like that out.
Server transfers and other new servers don’t get you back in the one EU server that is the unofficial RP server. Now I am server hopping, going from one to the other hoping to at least get one where most speak english, but so far every freakin time I picked a wrong server.
You project alot of “should haves” into this. By deleting your character you forfitted your spot. Its realy not AGS fault that you have alot of presumption about the game which arent there.
Again please inform yourself before you make such drastic actions as in deleting your characters.
Concerning your server hopping, heres a list with servers, their languages and generall information about it. I hope this helps you deciding.
I know a lot of my frustration is shown in my posts and yes I did make presumptions, but they were based on how other companies handle their servers. Was I wrong to make the presumption it would be the same here? Clearly I was.
Sorry for sounding angry and thanks for that link, I understand you mean well. Sadly that server list is outdated.
I feel that its very frustrating. And informations is not widely spread about this topic, if you dont lurk twitter, forums and reddit. So its a bummer that they closed server “overnight”.
Anyway I suggest you either try to get your character restored or make a new one on another server and transfer later once its working. I know these seem not like a solution to your very specific problem but thats the options I can think of now.
The list is a little outdated, yes, but it still serves the purpose of showing you atleast some “info” about the servers.
I know the problem won’t be fixed for me personally and didn’t expect it to be. They have better things to do than that. I just hope they fix it so others don’t run into the same problem.
