I really miss the days when GMs would actively do tickets in MMOs. Truly the golden age of their time.
A game like Elden Ring is full of things like that that kind of gaming experience.
Also not an mmo
I have said the same thing.
Ah, the good times. Back when people felt respect for the GM’s. They were viewed as Gods in the game because they were a living person above any player with the power to end you. And they were effective as hell
If you go into the great cleave, north of the far right fort. There is a ruin with a bunch of ancients. There is not much going on with the waterfalls but there is a chest in the water and you can sort of enter the waterfall. Its not much to look at but is something…
lol yeah. Not going to lie but I see a lot more orange posts here in NW than I do blue posts in WoW today (i don’t play SWTOR anymore but i have checked their forums at times and NW mods post a lot more than there too).
The devs are communicating with the players on the forums, no one questioned that. I was talking about GM’s in game, which to my knowledge are non existent in NW
WoW doesn’t even have gm’s talk to people in the game. Last time I saw or even had an in-game GM response was back in BC. But I know what you mean however, forum wise, people like more more when a staff member replies to topics even though they aren’t devs. Go look in the WoW forums under the WoW Classic (not Wrath) and see how many “forum mods” respond in there. And trust me, I am a WoW simp especially with my wow background and being there since literally day 1 of launch.
I even saw a NW GM on Maramma maybe 1-2 months ago pop and speak. My lord the channel flooded with people trying to talk to them.
Yes, WOW isn’t what it used to be. I was referring to 2009 years when it was the top MMO. Had a few interactions with GM’s in the game when I made reports or got stuck due to some bug
They kind of hinted on this for Brimstone. I think they have “hidden” caches in static locations? Here is the problem, that only promotes discovery ONCE, these need to be dynamic and respawn.
Devs specifically told players to look for this, cliche and going to be static spwn.
Im alright with this. Im okay with static caches.
Problem is, especially in a mmo, there will be 50 articles explaining how and where to find these things. It will become a checklist rather than something fun.
The age of discovery in mmos is over. Now it’s the age of having a wiki on your second monitor. ![]()
if you are, we are not alone my friend B)
Yeah i dont bother wikiing anything. It just kills that part of the game.
You used to be able to climb to this part of the map. It had some trees and stone to gather and you could set up a camp. But required patience and lots of wall clipping to get there.
there is that hole in malevolence that leads up to a chest on the outside… i thought that was cool design on nw’s part.
Yes. You’re a dying breed. You sound like one of those gamers that actually may enjoy “playing” the game and not just logging in, maxing out everything on Day 2 then spending forever complaining about how much the game sucks.
I’m ok with it. I’m that type of gamer myself ![]()
Oldschool EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Asheron’s Call, Rift, Ultima Online, etc. ![]()
I miss when games were challenging and fun AND… the gamers that played those games were actually ok with that.
You can still get to that spot, they’ve added a few rocks to block the solo path but you can make it with 2 people.
The top is also a little different, you can walk up to the skybox now.
Imagine finding Pai Mei from kill bill on the top of that or ace ventura either of those two I would be happy to do a quest for. Pretty sure Jim Carrey probably would do a voice over session for that kind of project. That being thrown into a game as an easter egg would be great. Oh god in terms of getting heartstone abilities…if Ace ventura was able to give the player access to the ability to train animals to aid you in battles temporerally and if Pai Mai gave the player the ability to burst push enemies great distances, each with their own quest lines. Only for such trainers to be found in alternating or rotating hidden areas.
