Am I forced to grind PVE content now?

“There isn’t a system in the game currently that will rewards PvPers with high end gear and I dont think it should” Hard to take you seriously when you don’t want me to receive gear. I want PvE players to receive gear. This is why it’s hard to take you seriously. You’re arguing against others enjoying the game. Classic toxic-elitism from the typical “my pre-scripted fights are better than your content” crowd.
That moment when someone says something so stupid you can disregard what you thought were good points. Actually they are baseline toxic and not worth taking seriously. But I’ll still give you the respect you deserve…

PvP players up until the Mutator patch could acquire max level gear very easy with barely any steps outside of actually playing PvP. You’ll notice that I am nearly caught up to all the PvE players by JUST DOING PVP.

This makes your base statement wrong. PvP players had a path to gearing that did not require (bar a very small amount) of PvE. was it less efficeint? Yes did it still exist? YES

The reason I don’t take the PvE crowd seriously is because they are elitist and toxic. Constantly they are begging for new content becuase the pre-scritpted fights they enjoy got boring. So what do the devs do? They add bigger numbers to the exact same fight and call it new content.

Now the devs knew that nobody would go into the identical content with just bigger numbers because the participation rate was abysmal for regular expeditions (despite their loot tables being some of the best in the game). So what did they do? That’s right they made an entire end game system to funnel players into just one piece of content. Could they very easily add appropriate rewards to other content? Yes Did they? No

OPR/PvP players aren’t asking for the best umbral rewards or even an efficient way of acquiring those rewards. We just want to receive them AT ALL from the play style that we have been enjoying throughout the game.

I’m in competitive gear as a pure PvP player. Whats your next excuse to deny player power from my favorite content? “It’s not difficult enough to play OPR” “its not time gated enough” “theres no risk involved” Just more ways of saying “it’s not ELITE enough”. So then make rewards drop at a reduced rate.
Look at gypsum casts.
Is the amount of umbral dropping from gypsum those hurting your elitist experience in PvE? How about crafting? Both of these have abysmal drop rates. ABYSMAL. They prove my point that having another place to acquire Umbral is doable without upsetting the careful elitist feelings that PvE players carry around.

Edit: the drop rate for umbral and crafting is ridiculously low. But if there were other activities that dropped ridiculously low umbral outside of expeditions it could add up to JUST ENOUGH rewards to not feel completely forced into boring expeditions

With you on this. We start at Level 1 and gring away SOLO for the most part. Gaining levels and continuing solo right through to 60. Now suddenly our game style has to change so we can improve gear. My style has been to grind away mining, harvesting etc and then selling my hard earned gains aty the trading post, then I have money to buy better gear. Only now I can’t buy what I think is better gear, because it is downgraded as an average of expertise and the item GS. Sucks man

Nobody asked for Mutations. Also the only way to generate Tax Income, which was the fastest way to Gear your company by now was PVP, for 4 Months!

Now Tables have turned and PVPERS allready crying after few Days how unfair it is they lost their Advantage.

And you still need Huge amounts of Gold to even get a piece Worth upgrading, which still is, easiest achieved With PVP.

Sorry I never got an advantage from war.

They aren’t fun content so I didnt’ do them.

In fact did you know the majority of players are not receiving an advantage from war?

It’s a big thing on my server that only a very small % of the server base gets tax money.

And they sold that money for RMT.

Pretty sad.

Most PvP players weren’t getting huge bonus’ from war. There were many of us who were not benefitting from war and also now not benefitting from mutations. So we lose out twice.

At least you only had to lose out once

poor poor you

Even when my company owned territory I didn’t get any benefits from it. All the gear I got I acquired on my own. I would like to still be able to do so.

@bkcambra

Perhaps they will fix it when they have the resources to dedicate to pandering to the miniscule PVP crowd.

I made my own thread on same topic… if anyone wants to upvote it and generate some traffic to gives this topic some more tractions…

Yesterday we made two parties and applied for OPR in primetime starting at 20h CET.

  • Two hours later still no OPR … .

GG AGS you fucked up your game left, right and center… .

Ye - and I can tell you you wont climb expertise 600 with OPR caches in the next 3-4months … you have to run chests.
You cant upgrade 600-625 there is no pvp sidepath → you have to do dungeons.

Thats the fail - war rewards, opr rewards =

yeah… it seems mutations siphoned the casuals away from opr. Unintended consequence?

In my server the casuals were still signing up for OPR. it was the sweatiest players grinding in mutators to get every edge. And once they got their gear score up to 615 or so they came back to stomp people.

Fantastic. That should bring new players in !

Wrong, it’s huge. Both in large wars and OPR

it is. I saw the difference immediately when I went up against players with higher gs weapons.

Yes, yes you are!

That makes no sense. You dont start with 500. Even if you hit 60 today and buy a 600 item you wanna use later, its 550. 600 GS + 500 exp will be 1100/2. So your bought 600 item is 550 and will increase every bump you gonna do for your expertise. A friend hit 60 right before the patch and 1 week later he has most of the slots on 550+ and thats done only with gypsum and daily chestrun.

You realize you can go to the new world db website… look at the weapons… shove them to 625… divide the damage at 625 by that at 600… and you get about 3.8% damage difference… there is ZERO chance any of you actually FEEL the difference of a 625 hitting you vs the 600

You probably have other gaping flaws in your gear or gameplay to explain why you’re always dead

3.8% on every hit they do to you and 3.8% less damage you do to them? Yes, you notice it. And that’s if you are at full 600 gs. I’m just under with no good way to get to that 625 so yeah i notice it and I can’t do anything about it.

Why not? You have the ability to buy and craft your own Mutated orb just like everyone else.
What is stopping you for LFG and using your own orbs?
You’re making excuses.
