You are correct. There is not much difference between 600-625. It should be a negligible advantage for someone at 625 vs those at 600 (too bad 99% of the players aren’t even there yet).
That said, I think the precedent is the problem. Currently the only advancement method from 600 to 625 is through PvE. We certainly know that 625 won’t be the last GS rank (if the game survives that is). Are PvP oriented players going to have to participate in PvE when GS hits 300? 350? At those points there will be distinct advantages vs a 600…
Sorry I just reacted to statement “you can´t play the game unless you are bis”. Being bis is the GOAL, not a point where you can “finally start playing the game”.
New player that reached lvl 60 and wants to PVP now have to grind his expertise to 600 so he can PVP. There is no logic in that.
The gap between 600 to 625 is way minor than 500(new lvl 60 player) to 600.
He will just die to people that maybe worse than him and potentially quit the game.
Regardless, I think its better to give multiple options for character advancement rather than forcing people into one set playstyle. Everyone wins if they can advance doing what they enjoy.
Actually 4 percent matters a lot in pvp. Look at the percentages now you get on weapon perks. The percentages aren’t huge but a couple of percent here and there on EVERY pvp interaction is massive. If your weapons do 4% less damage each time and you take 4% more damage each time you will get melted.
Damn. Good thing I had like a 2 week break… I told my buddies I was going to quit once the expertise and gearscore scaling goes live (downscaling to my expertise wasn’t live yet; they should have left it there and just leave it for the watermark). Good thing to find out here so I won’t ever have to log back in ever again. Good bye everyone. Good bye my 400k.
What are you people talking about? The PvP aspect of this game is the same as it was before. You can PvP to take territories. You can PvP in OPR. You can run around flagged for PvP and fight each other. If all of you PvPers don’t care about upgrading your GS, then you will just be fighting similarly geared combatants. What’s the problem? If the high end dungeons are just for PvEers (your argument), then what’s the downside to allowing PvEers to be able to upgrade their gear to face even tougher PvE challenges?
I am trying to be open-minded, but every time I see these posts all I hear is people worried about not being the top of the food chain. As you are quick to point out, if PvPers don’t PvE and PvEers don’t PvP, then you won’t be interacting in game anyways and your respective GS compared to each other is irrelevant.
Heaven forbid the game actually cater to everyone.
Well said. I feel you are just limiting the game. PVP fundamentals are there, why not expand on it. Its almost like they want it to die. I am all for pve. It really drives most MMos. There are so many great pvp ideas in this game. Not sure but PVP just feels punished. Not sure really what to do now i guess.
So, we need to do elite chest runs again to make the 590 expertise to 600 expertise for every weapon and armors and even jewelry to make the upgrade option opens now (from 600 to 625 via Umbral Shards), right if I understand correct? thank you.
That Umbral Shards mainly drop from mutated expedition but to get into mutated expedition, we need to do normal one first to get the new type of ORB to enter mutated expedition? thank you.
So some people have limited time to play this game. Maybe those people -only- want to focus on PvP. Well other people that they are competing against may have unlimited time and plan to do both dungeons and PvP. Over time (especially if GS keeps raising and PvE is the only way to raise it after a certain point), the people that do both will have a distinct advantage in the competitive game mode. Does that make sense?
I will try to explain what I mean,
I have no problem PvEers upgrading their gear and advancing into the game, it’s actually good for the community. Me as a PvPer will farm gold and even buy drops you find in that dungeon from you.
We are contributing to each other but in a different ways.
The problem I’m facing after the last update is that now I am forced to join you in those dungeon runs. I never said that I dont want to, but my issue is with being forced into.
