Am I the only one who thinks knock back needs toning down?

Ive seen knock back in a lot of games. However I have never seen a game with so much knock back.
Maybe Im just over reacting

But i seriously think the knock back needs to be toned down quite a bit.

If I am wrong let me know.

I want to know what others think to see if it is just me

Attempting to level the void gauntlet tonight I noticed that I was constantly being pushed out of my healing circle. Has knockback gotten worse with this patch or is void gauntlet just exceptionally succeptable?

Knockback/getting pushed around has always been a thing in New World. As a tank, this is of great annoyance to me, but it’s not game breaking by any means.

The knockback is ludicrous in this game. Being a tank while entirely incapable of imposing any direction or control on a boss is beyond ridiculous for an MMO. It’s really among the top ten worst aspects of the game for me. Just behind taxation.

Yeah, as a tank toon, it is more manageable, but as a dps or healer, it is unbearable, by a lot.

I would tend to agree. I know this is a group oriented game (i.e. MMO); however, if your not 60 on my server your soloing it seems like. The knock back coupled with respawn rate and the amount of other baddies you attract fighting while getting knocked back soon becomes overwhelming. I was a healer with spear until recent changes and soloing was horribly painful…i have since put up the life staff and went hatchet and greataxe and it is far easier to solo. None of the skills attract additional mobs…you kill so much faster respawn isnt as big an issue and knock back isnt as annoying it seems.

It just requires a bit of clever thinking and maneuvering. Annoying, yes. But like I said, it’s not game breaking. It’s better than just standing in one spot and spamming dps on a mob, which requires very little in the way of skill. Think warcraft, where people go when they’ve given up on trying very hard.

If there is to be knock backs, it needs to be mechanic based, not almost every hit.

Blocking with a shield will prevent most knockbacks. Just gotta time it right. Getting pushed around by a mob walking into you, however, is a different story.

Not everyone uses a shield. That was my point.

Not on anything big it won’t. Go tank a brute in OPR and you hold that shield high, my friend. See how long it takes to get rolled into the next county. Not long.

The biggest problem with brutes is they can knock you so far they reset and regain all their health, and it’s difficult to reposition and make them come the other way when they are slapping you to the ground every 0.35 seconds.

Don’t even waste stamina trying to dodge. It ain’t happening. In this game a tank ain’t nothing but a ping-pong ball.

Im glad im not the only one who thinks that. I mentioned feeling like a ping pong ball the other day to a guildie

Im not saying it shouldnt be part of the game. Im not saying it is game breaking

I am simply hoping to see it toned down some.

Seems like every mob in the game knocks you back.

This is not Dark Souls and even so I wish it would have some of DS mechanics.

Heavy armor and being staggered with a single sword swing or arrow is so annoying.
If you don’t want to get ping pong all the time, dodge, but you only have 2 up to 3 dodges, so you gotta fight 1 by 1, then better use hatchet if you want to fight multiple mobs else you’ll get staggered.

Finally seen a post about this.

Level 60, full faction, full tank, getting slapped around by low level lost while trying to loot a T1 storage chest. Pathetic game mechanic.

Knockback should at least be on a timer for mobs, just like everything else is on a timer for us.

I agree, particularly in small spaces. I constantly get pushed into walls and then have to deal with camera clipping also.
