Luck is totally broken in the game. No one understands it. I have guild mates with much less luck than me get more legendaries in dungeons. It’s laughable at this point.
This question has been asked a lot in the forums, and so far, not a single answer from devs.
Some argue luck is bugged, some argue luck is capped, some argue that too much luck is bad luck (as you surpass some treshholds), some argue that a roll of 4 or 5k over a dataloot of 100k will not change much anyways, etc…
In the end, no one knows the truth, as it’s virtually impossible to test luck in game and the dev stay silent.
I have the feeling that i’ve started to get worse drops when striving to maximize luck bonus. I’m gonna try take out about 5% for today run to see if i get better drops.

Same here. Something seems wrong with current luck system.
At the bare minimum, you should see and FEEL a difference between no stuff luck and full luck. Maybe not know exactly the correct number at 2 decimals, that’s okay, but you should feel it.
Right now, investing into a full luck set doesn’t feel rewarding at all. We should go from 80% green drops to 80% blue drops at the minimum. Sadly, it’s not the case.
They need to work on that, even if I understand that it’s not a priority due to all the other bugs and exploits, but they should at least communicate on luck. It’s a question that has been raised since the beginning and they remained mostly silent on it.
I’ve been doing a lot of PVE gathering / mining / skinning for the past week and I’ve got luck on most of my trade clothing and tools, plus some skill bonus foods. As far as I can see the luck isn’t making the slightest bit of difference. If I just wear my normal combat gear I seem to get pretty much the same drops.
I took out weapons and all 3 house trophies, making it ~44% luck bonus. Will report back after today run.
They need to show us what our luck is at in the menu where the doll is with the rest of out stats.
There are many people mentioning that something strange is going on with luck. Normally I would dismiss these kind of conspiracy theories but In this case something seems to be off.
In my experience full luck gear with pearls and 3 minor trophies is the sweet spot. Anything more than that and the luck strangly decreases
So i went with 43,8 without weapon and trophies and got leg hatchet, 1 leg resource and couple more purple items than usually. Not a single common 600.
I know its just one run so, that’s not enough numbers… but it gives slint hint that it might actually get bugged at 45+. Ill try 40-44 again, but with weapon and trophies up.
Things to check:

No amulet
35-40 No Amulet/bag - 38,5 (much more purple/blue drops, 1 legendary trophy, 2 legendary weapon, 1 schematic)
35-40 no 2 bags/eearing inc. luck staff/tropgies/amulet ~38.5 (1 leg resource, decent amount of purples, 1 600 purple) bad rng or amulet/trophies is bugged.
30-35
25-30 No amulet/Bag/pvp -28.5 (just sirens -3 items for sale, 0 600s, 2 expertise)
20-25
15-20

I almost think that the more “luck” I have on, the worse my drops get. When I had no trophies and only a few items of gear with luck, I got a decent amount of epic drops, along with food and furniture plans from chest runs in Myrk and mines… Now with luck trophies and almost all gear (and now weapons too) with luck, not seen an epic or recipe/schematic in weeks
So far 38.5 % luck (without amulet, bag, weapons and trophies) gave me best result. Significant change, with much more purple drops, and as much as 3 legends. And i didnt even got to finish the run.
28.5 % Luck semt to give less, but i still have to pull full run at 30-35 and 25-30.
As of now 35-40 seems to be sweet spot.
After i find sweet spot, ill try 50+ again.
Embarrassing that we have to find out what is still broken, after a fix that SHOULD fix negative luck items. And there is something broken for sure.
Well it’s a bad system.
We need good luck to get legendary,
Doing daily elite runs in myrk then reek then edon I got 1 legendary in two weeks, which was a useless wait for the stats and really random perks on.
To get a random legendary, for it to be the right weight the right stat with the right perks is something that puts me off even trying.
Next thing to try. 50+ with no amulet & trophies to make sure those arent the problem. Im updating my posts daily if anyone is interested about tests results. Ill sum it up in about 1-2 weeks.
It is fine as it is. We can’t have raining legendary items like Diablo 3. They need to be rare, hard to find.
Well, ive done some runs today, with food, with and without weapons/amulet.
One thing im sure, is that at some point too much luck turns to negative.
Theres something else bugged, but i wont continue to figure that out. Hopefully we can get it fixed someday.
We did a lot of tests already. Same goes for shield and weapon swapping or re-equipping items and trophies. Also since I replaced major trophies, I feel like having more luck.
But that’s not the fact. People with some “sweet spot” finding 2-4 trophy artifacts each day and some with more luck, finding none for weeks.
the funny thing is ive only gotten 2 trophie drops both times was when i forgot to put on my luck gear so i had like maybe 15% luck at the time instead of my normal 35% lol
