Rephrase that to “players that make mistakes or are inexperienced” and I’d agree.
Just splitting everyone into “bad” or “everyone else” buckets over simplifies this. I make mistakes in fights that sometimes lead to me getting done in by another player’s combo. I might then duel them again and obliterate them.
I suppose what you’re saying is bad players lose like this and then give up, opting to conclude that the combo is OP rather than practice against it to learn how to beat it.
And whilst I do agree with that, I don’t think that’s always the same as saying “it’s balanced because you can learn to get better”. Some builds aren’t well balanced. BB/WH has been nerfed and I don’t disagree with that change at all, despite my usage of it. So there’s nuance to this discussion.
The problem is that there is a big element of what you say. I was one of those people until I decided to focus on PVP with my FSS character and settled on BB as my weapon of choice. Took me a long time to get used to it and I’m still learning all the time.
Do I feel strong with it? Yes. I should do, though… I’ve got strong gear and I’ve been practicing with the weapon for months now. Am I a one shot wonder king? Not even close. When I do pull it off and obliterate an opponent I have to conclude that they’re just not well geared enough to withstand the combo (which is, I state again, getting a nerf).
So there’s a big disparity between what I’m seeing and what the old me saw. Am I a better player than the old me? Well, yes 100%. But the main point is that the old me was low con light and didn’t know anything about the BB because I’d never tried it. It does make a difference and if players aren’t taking that into consideration when they claim it’s op then I agree that definitely biases their opinions.
