Hello. I am a hardcore pvp player from a hardcore pvp clan. CSGO faceit lvl 10. I love musket, but I can’t play on it.
Why?
Because it is worst PVE, 1v1PVP, Mass PVP weapon. Can work only to grief some people in open world.
Why?
Weakest aoe, weakest damage, bugs, bad reload mechanics.
Btw, my clan has banned it for war. Because it is too weak.
I’ve switched to fire staff, because it is 1000% much better as range weapon. But I still in love with musket.
What should be done? Here is some thoughts:
- We don’t need long range pvp. For guys who think we need it: no, trust me. It is toxic. For me, it’s awful when somebody can just hide/heal/dodge my shots because of terrain and etc. I don’t need this pvp aspect, I want to make a kill, not make a damage. Take it from us by range-damage cut. And it is also toxic for casual player in light armor being shot from nowhere just for fun. I mean, mid range/mid range+ are ok. But not EXTREME LONG RANGE.
- Remove ALL HEADSHOT ABILITIES. Btw, you can remove headshot coef too. It has NOTHING common with skill, because of netcode and hitbox movement. CSGO has ~3-4x headshot multiplier and it’s 10000% more EASIER to land a headshot in CSGO. So, these abilities are 100% trash. Replace them fair skill-based dps boosters like ‘land 2 shots in 4 seconds and get ur empower’. Replace them with armor penetration logic.
- Aoe. All not-aoe weapons are trash in mass pvp. These ‘I cAn ShoOt peOplE on CaNnons’ guys are just wrong. You guys are at the bottom of table every time ). It’s so easy to dodge you for cannon guy. We need 2 good aoe abilities. We don’t need sticky bombs and powershot. We need 1 aoe-fireball-shot and 1 aoe-poison shot to reduce target heal. It can return us to hardcore war.
- Damage. Musket just doesn’t have damage. You need 15-25 shots to kill heavy guy. If he is not dodging and healing LOL. And you need to land your shots instead of gaxe lmb spam. And you need to reload. And you need to load your abilities, why stuck in 1 place (which is suicide). And etc. As I said before, we need FAIR ans USEFUL passives to boost our dps - like ‘land 2-3-4 shots at X time’. And we need armor penetration. And we need increased basic damage.
- 1v1. Ohh man… Ok, if you will add fair dps boost and armor penetration for musket, for 1v1/clost range pvp we need to rework only 2 things: traps and reload. Trap range should be increased, trap dodging should be removed, trap should be immortal (maybe 3-4 shots to kill it).
Reload should be faster and player’s speed at this moment should be faster. Ability load should be same to reload, WITHOUT STUCK AT 1 PLACE. - Hipfire. Hipfire is useless because of damage and because IT’S VERY HARD TO AIM. WHY? BECAUSE IT HAS A DELAY, lol. Srsly? 1 second delay between button click and shot? REALLY? It must be removed. We need immediate hipfire.
- Mechanics. Pls add ‘TOGGLE’ option near ‘HOLD’ option for aim. Pls add sensitivity multiplier for sniper mode.
All these things are very easy to implement, except new aoe abilities (I understand, you don’t have time for it right now). Just change numbers pls and change passive perks.
Finally, how it should be balanced:
If player cannot land shots - he should be punished. If player can land it very fast - he should be rewarded by damage boost. Headshots - FORGET ABOUT HEADSHOTS, OKAY? Only unskilled players complaint about it.
