The great sword looks is, well trying to be nice here, horrible. I know some like it others don’t, but for me it doesn’t fit this isn’t a Korean mmo or anime.
It is so bad it almost makes the GS unplayable. I bet if you released a normal great sword skin it would sell like crazy. I’d pay for one in a heart beat.
Others who like the ridiculous current looking great sword wouldn’t have to buy it - it’s a win, win for players and your profit margin.
And while we’re at it, how about some normal great axe and hammer skins as well? You know… like actual functional sized weapons and not the ridicu-huge ship anchors people swing around like they are weightless? Folks love to trot out “realism” as a rebuke to the skins AGS has been releasing… how about pointing that same fervor towards all 2h weapons?
“This paper revisits the question of how these artefacts were used. It presents the results of the first large-scale application of use-wear analysis to British Early Bronze Age battle-axes and axe-hammers, from northern Britain and the Isle of Man. Combining the results of the wear analysis with experimental archaeology and contextual analysis, it is argued that these objects were functional tools, some of which saw prolonged use that might have spanned multiple users. The evidence shows that the few implements found in burial contexts were both functional and symbolic; their inclusion in burial contexts drawing upon relational links which developed through the itineraries of these objects. It is also apparent that use and treatment were similar across all types of battle-axe and axe-hammer, with some regional variation in the deposition of axe-hammers in south-west Scotland. It is concluded that battle-axes and axe-hammers had varied and multiple roles and significances and that it is possible to discover what each artefact was used for by deploying a use-wear analysis methodology.”
The double-headed battle axe is a shaft-hole axe from around 3400–2900 BC. It occurred mainly around Rügen in Germany and on Zealand in Denmark, as the Battle Axe culture established itself in the surrounding areas. The axe has a flared edge that became very prominent among the later types, which also gained a flared butt. The double-edged axes were always made from hard and homogeneous stones such as porphyry, and they were also finely polished.
I don’t get why they thought it’d be a good idea to turn it into a boat pedal. Give us the skins you showed in the past, and not behind a huge paywall, thank you.
