What could possibly be unclear about the body of this message with just the first sentence in it??

Functional Great Axe is an oxymoron (actually why i never picked up the weapon).

Axes with two symetrical blades were ceremonial objects, not weapons.

Single blade is fine with me.

See The Use and Significance of Early Bronze Age Stone Battle-axes and Axe-hammers from Northern Britain and the Isle of Man | Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society | Cambridge Core

“This paper revisits the question of how these artefacts were used. It presents the results of the first large-scale application of use-wear analysis to British Early Bronze Age battle-axes and axe-hammers, from northern Britain and the Isle of Man. Combining the results of the wear analysis with experimental archaeology and contextual analysis, it is argued that these objects were functional tools, some of which saw prolonged use that might have spanned multiple users. The evidence shows that the few implements found in burial contexts were both functional and symbolic; their inclusion in burial contexts drawing upon relational links which developed through the itineraries of these objects. It is also apparent that use and treatment were similar across all types of battle-axe and axe-hammer, with some regional variation in the deposition of axe-hammers in south-west Scotland. It is concluded that battle-axes and axe-hammers had varied and multiple roles and significances and that it is possible to discover what each artefact was used for by deploying a use-wear analysis methodology.”

And see The history of the axe | Gränsfors Bruk Sweden

The double-headed battle axe is a shaft-hole axe from around 3400–2900 BC. It occurred mainly around Rügen in Germany and on Zealand in Denmark, as the Battle Axe culture established itself in the surrounding areas. The axe has a flared edge that became very prominent among the later types, which also gained a flared butt. The double-edged axes were always made from hard and homogeneous stones such as porphyry, and they were also finely polished.

I don’t get why they thought it’d be a good idea to turn it into a boat pedal. Give us the skins you showed in the past, and not behind a huge paywall, thank you.

The why is in the original post. Thanks for the free bump though

PLEASSSSSSE make this happen!!!
A MILLION bumps.!!!

Honestly, the biggest attraction to this game (for myself) is how realistic the principal mechanics are (minus the swimming lmao).

I love the realism of MOST combat mechanics, although some are a bit crazy.

I was sooo excited for the great sword just to realize it was a goofy looking, exaggerated, finally fantasy-esque type of animation/weapon.

I would expect this from a game like God of War or WoW but not New World.

I really love the abilities and stances, but the animations are gawdy.

It’s not realistic for me to ask for different animations so please just give us REALSTIC SKINS!

  1. Samurai katana
  2. English broadsword/longsword
  3. Dadao
  4. Odachi

If they release a Samurai sword skin for Greatsword, that’s an instant buy for me.

So true. When I think of Great Swords I think of like Lord of the Rings or even the sword Frostmourne (from WoW).

My other suggestion was a series of LOTR sword skins! They already have rights to the rings of power!

It’s because they need to feel something big in their hands.

I would love doing arenas with a glamdring or anduril skin - if only there was a mage/GS build :joy:
