I tested damage on level 33 Corrupted, just outside Brightwatch, hitting with a single attack from the front to capture white damage values. These are NOT crit values. Floating text showed no resistances.
This hatchet, with a Tier 2 Amber gem hit for 294.
This hatchet, with a Carnelian gem, to get a baseline: 396.
Note: I moved to a Tier 3 Emerald gem in the meantime, for better finishing. It has given me a 25% base damage increase, and a 38% damage increase to mobs below 30% hp, over an Amber gem that is supposed to scale off all this Focus.
Thanks for the reply, but this comment is the opposite of my test. If Corrupted take more damage from Nature, then the Amber gem should have done MORE damage to them, however, the damage went up by 25% when I removed Nature damage from the equation.
Are you sure they were corrupted? Can you post screenshot of damage numbers on same mob so we can determine same mitigation of mob? do you have perks that increase damage when they are full health or when they are low health? Easy test is to find some rabbits and kill them from front
Floating text showed no resistance but if they actually were corrupted you would’ve seen it on your screen, that’s what I was getting at
They are level 33 Corrupted at Corlew’s Mine. I noticed some mobs took more or less damage, so I stuck to the Rustheart Trappers, Artisans, Miners, and Hunters. I can’t afford to cut anymore gems to continue testing.
Also, none of my gear has any additional perks for outgoing damage outside that +10% crit chance, but I’m only tracking white damage for this.
