Amber Gem test on wolves outside WW Killed 10 wolves each time. Using all same gear 53 str and 193 foc, only the gem in the GA changes, using the cabalist faction GA.

Test 1 Cut flawed Amber 20%
470 and 235 white damage numbers = total damage of 705

Test 2 Cut Amber 30%
411 and 275 white damage numbers = total damage of 686

Test 3 Cut brilliant Amber 40%
353 and 315 white damage numbers = total damage of 668

Result of total damage tells me the Amber gems are broken using Amber gems beyond flawed actually decreases your total damage due to the FOC part not scaling properly even though the str part is reduced properly.

At the end when I went back to flawed cut amber I tested heavy attacks white numbers same place same wolves outside WW

Cut brilliant Amber 40%
539 and 504 for total of 1043 damage

Cut flawed Amber 20%
719 and 376 for a total of 1095 damage

Thank you for the tests. The more people provide concrete numbers like this, the more pressure there will be on the devs.

Has anyone tested this since the 1.0.5 patch?

This bug used to be listed on their known bugs section, but it appears to have vanished. Did they actually fix it?

[Megathread] Weekly Update 1.0.5 Bug Megathread - Bugs and Exploits / Bugs and Exploits - New World Forums

Would be nice if this is acknowledged so we know if it’s fixed or not. .thx

It’s still not fixed.

IT’S FIXED. /10char

No its not, a 20% still does more dmg than the other gems especially a 50%

@Flake Cool you tested after 1.05 dropped then? My recent test was just before 1.05.

I tested it just before, 20% is still like 50-90 more dmg than a 50% with 304 focus.

Ah yeah I know my test showed the same, albeit with less stats since im not lvl 60.

Was hoping you tested after 1.05.

Yeah I tested with 1.04 and 1.05 and the results were the same :frowning:

Oh I see so no changes with 1.05…that’s sad… :slightly_frowning_face:

I attacked some wolves since they have no resistance to nature and dont take extra damage to it as well. I used all 3 types. i have 14 str and 219 focus. with great axe and no gem i do 340, with flaw gem I do 272/188 for 460 damage, with regular gem i do 238/220 for 458 damage, and with brilliant I do 204/252 for 456 damage so in order from no gem to gems I do 340, 460, 458, 456. as you can see, the higher gem i do the less damage i do slightly which is weird. Maybe its not scaling correctly like you stated? I initially do 120 damage more but it doesnt go up, only the focus damage exchange on the weapon changes but no increase in damage from my focus stat

Bump to continue this for us FOCUS builds

also-- isnt the main issue here that the gems arent using the stat in question, but rather the weapon damage only
