Ammunition Costs - Remove or Increase Recipe Amount

I play Bow/Musket, and it’s what I enjoy. With that being said, pretty much any form of content that consumes ammunition is expensive for me… really expensive. An M10 will cost me well over 1,000 gold in ammunition. Wars will cost me the same amount of gold as I would have earned, and please don’t point out you can buy ammo. I don’t die enough to return to buy ammo frequently, and it’s a sub-optimal way to play in a game mode that is very important. Most my tokens are spent on Fire Cannons when on offense or haste potions anyways.

So what do I do? I use spears for base level content like arenas, normal dungeons, daily gypsums, etc. It’s annoying because that’s not what I built my character to do, but unless I want to hemorrhage gold I have to do just that. I can’t even world PVP without spending a few thousand.

So I suggest you do one of three things.

-Triple the ammunition payout of the recipes.
-Make bullets infinite in mutations, war, and invasions
-Replace the Orichalcum Ingot in the recipe with a more widely available material that isn’t required for end-game crafting.

I have spend hundreds of thousands of gold now on ammunition. No other weapon types have this issue. I literally do not participate BY CHOICE in lots of the content in the game because it isn’t worth the expense. Why would I push territories or world PVP when it is going to cost me thousands? Why would I help someone through a low level mutation? Why do anything that costs me gold like that?

ye prices explode, same for potions…

glad mana potions are still basically free. but it is annoying to have it aswell. not being able to cast
because its empty sucks aswell

March patch notes -
Flint ammo removed.
Unlimited base ammo added.

Yes this does nothing but allow you to take a 20% dmg reduction to play for free.

Incorrect, you give up 5-20% bonus damage to not have to pay for arrows.
I do completely agree with the unlimited ammo in wars though!

That’s literally what I just said…

You’re not taking a damage reduction, the bow damage is based on flint arrows.
If you want to do 20% bonus, then you shoot ori arrows at a cost, not dissimilar to using a honing stone.

I dont play musket/bow main but i have to agree. Prices for ammo are crazy. For start we should try to x10 output of crafting for ammo.

It is most definitely not based on flint ammo, and you can use honing stones with ranged weapons…

Do you honestly believe that ranged weapons have access to 20% more damage on a baseline that all other weapons? I’m genuinely curious.

Is there another weapon in the game that crit’s for 12k damage?

I understand thats not an accurate scenario in war - which is why I agree with the unlimited war ammo, bring one ori arrow and shoot it through the whole war.

I like the increased crafting amount aswell, I’m not really here disagreeing with any of your suggestions- mostly was just letting you know that unlimited ammo was otw

I’m pretty sure bow balance is done off of ori and not flint. But honestly maybe a good fix to bow bow not being great and ammo issues is to bump bow base damage by 20%. Then those who want to pay a premium for ori can do real damage….

Or at a minimum bump bow and musket damage by 7% and remove their abilities to use honing stones.

Is this really your justification as to Bow being balanced off of flint? Lol bruh… You do realize the only time you’re hitting that is on a Spriggan in an Invasion with a Corrupted Bane bow, which full consumable, full dex, and full rends on the target and using heavy hits.

You’re drunk, go home, get some rest.

In that same statement i agreed with you, and you gonna come back acting like an a*hole, very classy.

The base damage on the bow is achieved by shooting flint arrows, there is nothing to argue about that statement at all - so I don’t even get where you coming from.

The bow does massive damage against anything not wearing full heavy (fun fact arrows generally glance off plate armor), which is really besides the whole point of this post.

Bodkin arrows fired from English yew longbows didn’t ;).

Hey maybe that’s a fix. Make iron 1.1 damage. Steel, starmetal, & ori 1.2 damage. But give starmetal and ori additional armour penetration to simulate bodkins. Starmetal 2.5% armour penetration, Ori 5% armour penetration.

Gives cheaper 1.2 arrows with steel. And adds functionality to keep people crafting Star and ori.

20% is not relevant to fact then ppl have to pay tons of gold to use weapon on top lvl pvp.
This ammo has to be cheaper (im not bow/musket player). It should be considered as default pvp ammo.

Hey there X123123,
Thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to put together a post with actual suggestions and ideas. I have sent a report to the devs on your behalf.
