Amrine excavation query

Have I understood this correctly. I’m not against playing with others but no friends play the game so I am going solo and have been having a blast. However, the main quest has hit a stumbling block for me. I hit level 25 (recommended level) and joined up with some randoms who were level 22 and 23 the other night. I had the Amrine tuning orb so got invited to join 4 others.
We got a fair way through and I could see that we needed to advance forward through the mine but the others did not see that and kept running back and forth. Two left the group and the three of us who were left got wiped out. No problem respawned and we were joined by a level 48. We advanced and defeated Nakashima and then came up against the final boss. At which point the level 48 said he had to go just as one of us activated the boss fight. Two hits later from old Gary and with no healer I was in respawn land. It was nigh on impossible to win this with just the three of us so eventually we gave up.
I lost all my best armour and weapons which I get but now I have no Amrine Tuning Orb so was going to craft one and try again. I have all the resources except for 10 corrupted sliver. However I read that you can only get this in corrupted areas but need to be in a group of 5. Is this correct? If so it doesn’t make sense in a game that upto now I have been happily soloing, Seems a bad design to my inexperienced eyes that you hit a brick wall where you can’t progress if playing solo. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You mentioned people leaving your group
That happens on our server and is to do with the Archimedes quest, where you have to find him some bones
Some runs dont give the full 5 bones needed, so folk join another group just to get the odd 1 bone they need to complete the quest
That quest gives 5k experience, so is worth repeating

Thanks for the reply. Yes I know there is the mission to get the bones for the dog/wolf but the annoying bit was the guy who left just as the final fight with the last boss was activated. My grief isn’t really aimed at him, it is more about not being able to get back into the excavation mission once you leave. Obviously I need another Amrine Tuning Orb but to craft it I need corrupted sliver. It seems impossible to get this without being forced to find a group of other people wanting to look for corrupted sliver in the higher corruption areas. Someone please correct me if this wrong.

Very unlucky but all is not lost. There isna quest chain in Everfall that gives a second Amrine key. If you just complete all Everfall quests you will get it. Later on the same quest chan grants a key for Starstone Barrows so you will want it anyway. The quest is easy and meant to be done solo.

you can get the corrupted slivers from the lvl 25 corruption things on the map. Some of them can be solo’d with skill and the bigger ones will require some help. MAKE SURE YOU OR A FRIEND HAVE THE RIGHT TIER STAFF TO COMPLETE IT THOUGH!!

I have experienced the same thing a few times now with Amrine. Shards were hard to get and crafting a new orb is pricey. I also died my first run and lost the orb.

Best bet is to look on the recruit channel and also reach out to your faction for anyone to do an Amrine run with you. Lots of folks also sit outside Amrine, I have done multiple runs myself. Just reach out in chat and I am sure you will find a crew or some assistance.

You can quite easily join a group that someone else has the orb and still collect what you need at the end of the dungeon to continue on your main story line.

Good luck!

There are 3 quests in total that will give you an amrine tuning orb. The main and 2 side quests. This is the easiest way to get more.

Try asking in global if a lvl 60 can run you through some corrupted portals. The tier 1 & 2 group portals can be done solo by a lvl 60 in decent gear and nearly always drops corrupted slivers. No need to find a whole group.
If asking for a group in global doesn’t get any hits you could try offering some kind of incentive… Everyone loves gold! Just remember to pay at the end of the run so they don’t drop out halfway

Thanks to everyone who replied. Much appreciated. I have actually just completed it. A little wait outside of the excavation site before some kind soul took pity on me and sent an invite. Three of us in a group managed it.
