My personal opinion on the matter is that this is a step in the right direction for Musket. When it came to Musket vs Musket it is much more enjoyable playstyle.
Pros
- Stopping to aim for a second before shooting is an amazing approach to handle balance on Musket. It’s was much more enjoyable and added a lot more skill to the weapon.
- Ramping damage on waiting to shoot feels good.
- When you are pushed, it’s very hard to hit people running at you if you have to move, this is how it should be.
Cons
- The damage ramp is a bit low for waiting to shoot vs a bow that takes half a second. It feels less rewarding to fight bows in particular. You can’t avoid their shots if you need to stop and aim. It should be that way in a sense but the bow damage is way higher for less work on their part.
- Bloom on moving cursor is really awful. Regular bloom is okay but being punished for moving the cursor feels extremely bad.
My suggestions?
- Remove bloom change when moving cursor, keep bloom everywhere else.
- Add more ramp power for holding your shot.
Everything else feels great. I know a lot of people are going to disagree but I personally had a blast in musket vs musket with these changes. It was much more enjoyable and felt skill based.
