I would resume the past 48 hours like this:
It was a clash of bullies from the 3 worlds. Each world has their bullies and bullies of bullies. And merging 3 worlds together, you get a clash. It should calm down, because now they saw what the main company on the server, Take Care (TC) is about.
TC used a strategy to instigate conflict: raising taxes, so see who can flex from the other 2 worlds. It worked, 5 wars in the same evening, yesterday. Of the 5, TC had to defend the 3 most important territories: EF, BW, MD. TC couldn’t send their alpha team to CK or RW.
CK was lost to Blackguards, the only real competition left on Morrow, after TC took the entire world. And RW was lost to a Marauder company from Xibalalaba with the help of many Blackguards.
The 3 main “wars” were streamed on the TC discord, and it was, how to write it in a constructive way… A “clash” of what worked on Xibalabambam or Locuta did not work on Morrow. That’s pretty much it.
But, that’s 90 minutes out of 48 hours.
The merge was much more about merging thousands of players. How many players fought in these wars? 200, max?
So far, I would say the merge has been absolutely GREAT! The activity is amazing to see again. 4 weeks ago, when I moved from Balnibarbi to Morrow, it had 500 concurrent users at night, Synd only had one town, RW I think. The rest was split in the middle between Cov and Mar, but Cov had a slight edge.
2 weeks later, it was all Synd. All TC and friends owned. Many companies left Morrow and the activity went down to 300. It became very difficult to schedule OPRs, it took a long time for some expeditions to start, etc…
On monday, we had a 694 peak of concurrent users, yesterday, a 700 peak of concurrent users. So many OPRs were scheduled, expeditions are lightning quick to start. Towns are bustling with activity. It stimulates more people, like me, to spend real $ to get some stuff from the store, just to look more stupid then the next.
The respawned rates are shorter, so, yes, I see more often that something was gathered, but it respawns quicker now. Much more stuff in the market, better prices on most items (what should be cheap is cheaper, what should be more expensive is more expensive).
Last but not least, no disrespectful clash between FR and EN players. So far. It will happen, for sure, when things are boring, but now, with so many people, Global chat is spammed even more with WTS/WTB stuff, conversations go away.
From MY perspective, I’m very happy with this merge. As I was pretty happy when I arrived on the server, before many very active companies left. But if TC remains too strong for the other 2 factions, if the other 2 factions don’t unite like Synd did on Morrow, we might see a wave of departure, again.
Cheers.
