Animation Cancel Problems POST 1.1

Let’s cut the small talk and get on with the main point this post is going to make. Something went wrong with the weapon swap changes as well as animation cancel shifts in the latest patch 1.1 cycle.

New World has some incredible combat when you start to figure out how to use your rotation between dodges or weapon swaps to clean up the delays that occur in most of the game’s abilities and interactions. Something went majorly wrong with 1.1; however, for a multitude of these kinds of interactions.

Every experienced bow user feels the pain of how sluggish bow is now that you cannot chain abilities in between your normal attacks for a seamless combat as well as some lengthened animations. It is a rewarding experience to get a rotation done right and it is not something that should be taken out of the game for any weapon or combat style.

Something that is also bothersome, is weapon swapping and the bugs with it are still a major problem in the game. Weapons not actually swapping, weapons glitching, and unresponsiveness is a hinderance to the game, and it has become worse with this patch cycle.

Below I will post 2 videos of interactions with weapon swap dodge rolling into a dive to display how these changes has affected gameplay. POST 1.1, you must now hop in a direction before weapon swap dodging into a dive (you never had to hop PRE 1.1 for this interaction to work), and in doing so, your weapon and abilities become bugged until you unsheathe or swap weapons again.

This game has incredible potential and gets more and more fun as you learn how to play your character, your weapons, and your playstyle. The Dev team is clearly pushing out a lot of updates and if we work together we can hopefully solve a lot of problems we are facing in this awesome game.
