For the lulz
explain
People asked for fresh start servers for a few reasons. A good amount of those reasons were about the bugs at launch being bad. Some players exploited bugs and got either gear, rich, advantages, or duped so they want a clean start. If they release this MAJOR content update with a new weapon and tons of adjustments to skills/perks PLUS a huge new area there is a possibility of new bugs arising. Last patch for example has crafting glitch and also a duping glitch where people got banned for it.
Long story short if there is new bugs in this patch players will throw their arms in the air and scream that the fresh start server was ruined by “x bugs” or whatever the case may be. If they want fresh start to be clean and satisfy all the new/returning players they are going to try and avoid the nightmare scenario where basically everything is broken and people are glitching and duping all over again day 1 of fresh start.
Yes, lets discuss this again.
You guys need to remember that this game is still half finished. I’m sure the devs know this, and I’m sure they don’t want hype to center around this game just yet until they are conformable about the state of the game. They will only have one more good chance to get the 1mil players at launch to retry their game.
There are still so many issues. The main issues I would say are the lack of Transmog, mounts, and loadouts. And also lack of pvp mode variety, opr maps, and a matchmaking system (at the moment opr sucks and you either destroy the other team or get destroyed, there’s no inbetween). Would also like some solo and 10-20 man dungeons. They still also need to revamp the 25-60 level experience and add a lot more QoL changes.
Lack of transmogs and mounts are not issues. They are “wants”, not “needs”. Loadouts though, yes please.
This. All of this is what I’ve been trying to tell people.
fresh start should always have patches 2 weeks after legacy servers. have to remember this is only a small indie company and they can’t be expected to have a completely polished game on patch day.
They knew the hype is for the real content Brimstone, not something they threw together in two weeks.
They are trying to get the new territory control changes finished so they can be active in fresh starts which totally makes sense. No need to hold up brimstone for that.
FSS should be handled just like every other game that updates servers lists. They’re the same just with different start dates…
The main reasons for FSS isn’t anything ground breaking that hasn’t been witnessed many times before in other MMOs, so I find it incredibly difficult why people struggle to understand this, unless it’s people first online game or they’re just trolling….
… New economy so people can afford things and get used to the game at a better pace.
… Being able to get into dungeons without ridiculously high gear (580-600 to get into level 60 normals?!!!….).
… Make new friends in a fresh environment.
… Older gamers enjoy helping others so, experienced New World players may enjoy helping new players find their feet.
… People may just want to reroll a new character and enjoy the levelling process
… People may want an incognito character they can play where no one knows them so they can relax.
Yeah they should keep it like this from now on. All patches tested by the legacy servers. It will be a popular policy, I promise ![]()
+10% music xp while playing in a tavern
The sequence of events went like this:
They apply the summer patch (pve9 content many people return.
Then, the sand patch was announced.
People started coming back even more.
When the player base rose, they started, just then, to talk about the fresh and it didn’t happen the other way around.
As you can see that they haven’t been in the game for months, they don’t even know the order in which things happened.
Fresh, fresh, fresh. 12 months of much more important things happened than the last 15 minutes of a transitory novelty.
I honestly think it’s a good thing not to follow the hype. Hype chasers just hop from game to game just following hypes, and not engaging with games long term. It’s much better for new world to have a slow increase in player base instead of a crazy high followed by another low
Well you are about to see another crazy high followed by a crazy low not unlike launch.
Considering the timeline of the Halloween event, I think it works well.
Those who want to enjoy the Halloween event and FSS servers can. Without waiting next year…
BSS is here to stay. Seasonal events are seasonal and it seems event skins may not be repeatable (looking at event title on event gear).
How low do you think peak concurrent players will get in the next 2 months?
If that’s all it takes to turn players away then they weren’t going to stay long anyhow.
Much smarter of them to focus on the BSS release for the actual playerbase to enjoy then cater to the fotm hype train players.
Freah start was never even their plan, it was just suggestions made by content creators after they started coming back to cover the update. AGS liked the idea and decided to embrace only to met with even more backlash. I don’t think they should even release them until the entire 1-60 leveling process is finished.
