Anti-aliasing PLEASE

Hello,

There is no TXAA in the game which is temporal AA (not post processing) to make the image (foliage, objects, ships, building etc). not jagged and shimmering. Lack of aa makes the world unrealistic and bad as a matter of fact.

It’s even possible (because of DX11) to add MSAA, Nvidia’s TXAA (being as it’s a AAA title I’m kind of wondering and worried why it’s missing, actually), and the advanced post process SMAA 4x method, which, like TXAA, combines temporal and sub-sample anti aliasing with the existing SMAA post-process algorithm.
Post processing AA doesnt eliminate jaggies and shimmering however, it makes it unnoticeable blurry so thats why we need TAA at least!

But hey i am not a dev… and it seems they dont care and not have time or money to implement.

When will TAA finally be added ?

Thank you.

What resolution do you play on?

On 1440p, Low settings, full screen, I don’t see any jaggies

Same with 1080p, low settings, windows, I don’t see any jaggies.

Maybe it’s because I have an AMD GPU, gives me the AMD Advantage

All I know compared to most other AAA titles, this game has the least amount of jaggies/shimmering that i’ve ever seen. Everything is crisp as heck

You are either trolling or dont know what aliasing is. I play on 1440 very high setting, on low setting its obviously a little worse.
Are u playing on a 15 inch laptop or what?
U notice it when in motion, trees etc and wooden buildings or ships particularly from long distance. Shimmering and jaggies.
This game is awful aliasing… compared to all others. Because no anti aliasing.
All foliage is shimmering/flickering if you run in open worldit takes away immersivitiy and realism.
I thought for a 2022 game this would have taa.
It does nothing have to do with cpu or gpu.

See, this is a problem for many players.

Look at the wooden planks in the distance on the ground

Game doesn’t even have a native 144fps cap, what do you expect?

Wow! That doesn’t happen on my screen, and im on all low. strange.

Maybe that’s due to being only 1080p?

Yeah I can say that does look bad! When I get on later I will take a screenshot of mine. I swear mine don’t have jaggie edges like that lol

Is that 1080p?

When u take screenshot u dont see aliasing my man, aliasing is only when u are moving and doesnt happen on everything.
Look at ropes and ships, wooden stairs in brimstone from far distance when running, etc

Not everyone has a problem with this. Others, in higher resolutions, are also like that. I have 1080.

Yeah this is a good example but its even worse on far distance casted buildings and ships.

In 1080 it should be even more noticeable …i play on 1440 very high. putting the setting on low makes it slightly worse because of lack of post processing and detail quality it looks more blurry.

guess which one has TAA anti aliasing.

I would much rather see DLSS or equivalent first. I don’t really see a case for putting aesthetics over more optimization as a first priority.

I’ll have to really see. I know I was watching my friend’s stream and I made fun of him for everything being super jaggy.

I know he has an NVIDIA GPU and I have an AMD GPU.

I know his gpu isn’t the best and he plays on 1080p. Ill post and update later once I get off work

They just have to enable real full screen mode, and AMD’s FSR could be implemented with no additional game coding.

DLSS wont help…the game is cpu bound. My usage of gpu drops to 40-50 and cpu too because of bottleneck on one core.
Dlss would downscale first and upscale it again.
Cpu will even be more bottlenecked with dlss
