Oooft excellent idea.
Bang on right there, Hardware id would be a lot better method.
Excellent idea. I am tired of everyone with many accounts, many companies etc doing the same wars on different servers.
yeesh. how do you even have that many accounts. wouldn’t that require at least $600 on the low side and $1,200 on the high side depending on the price they were purchased.
not to mention the time involved in building up those characters so they are even proficient in wars. I realize this can very well be hyperbole but even 4 or 6 accounts is some serious neck beard stuff.
not to mention that I think you could change your hardware ID through a virtual machine to whatever you like. I am curious about this and will be following this post. its an interesting question.
This game is flooded with ex players - see peak players for reference, a lot of non-mmo players played until endgame and realised a MMO isn’t for them… We all have friends who would share their steam logons for access.
Even without that access you are overestimating time taken to get from level 1 → 60/625gs. It’s under a week at 4h/day if done efficiently and costs ~ 60k in townboards - (reference: I’m 570 gs at 20h playtime - started at recent announce of Brimstone PTR.) There isn’t a huge difference between two perk/ three perk gear - you can get a full set of shirk fort/resil / resil/perk for <100k for most builds… war viable enough. The issue here isn’t gear, but rather the share of content through the player-base.
Yes hardware ID could be spoofed through VMWare but as poorly as NW runs on even high-end hardware outside a VM, playing war inside a virtual machine would be awful, I welcome that greedy player to try.
funny enough though windows works better through a VM my techy friend was saying that its protocols just cause the os to trip over its own two feet. not that I would know enough to add on to that so its just hearsay but I would wager that it could be done. your probably right though as you are kneecapping your processor essentially. but I fail to see how that would hinder your network connection
Brilliant Idea.
Good idea but may be more controversial to implement… An easier solution to the shell problem is to force all siege timers to the same time in a given region and worldset.
This is also a solution that could be implemented tomorrow, vs requiring new game or systems development.
Doubt it. Most of my friends have more than 1 game in the library, so they wouldn’t be so happy to share their login and password. I think you are telling this from your perspective, cause in my company there is 70+ people, and none has got second account. Not even second character.
I am not even mention the fact, how fu**ed up someone has to be, to get yourself more than 1 account, and specially make more than 1 character and level it up and gear it up, only to ignore war limits etc.
I like your idea, more they secure shell companies from taking control over the server is better.
But don’t measure everyone else with your own measurment.
This is probably the easiest solution, yet the most effective change Amazon can implement.
Two thumbs up.
Same siege times in every region. All the way.
Sieges should be always at the same time depending on region. for example Lineage 2 has sieges and they always happens at sunday XX:XX hour. And this is best solution for this game so people ho have many acc will need to decide witch sieges are more important for them.
It’s a game. Stay the f away from my machine unless its to rending and control the game.
Lol! Checking essentially the serial number of your graphics card is less invasive than what the anti cheat already does… This guy
I am unsure what server you may be on, but i am betting your company is not the server owner
The player base is more than happy to be as you say fu**ed up enough to go to the lengths of having multiple accounts. Which is 100% occurring. and if you don’t think for a second that with 70 players in your company most likely your crafters, and big dogs don’t have a second account is laughable.
I think your comment is extremely naive.
Hardware locking would get rid of most of the problem.
While you’d have a few users that know how to get around it, there are easy ways to see through the most rudimentary of spoofing.
At least, in this way you would also run the risk of getting banned for doing it, if they went that route. So that’s another subset of people who wouldn’t do it, even if they could.
All in all, it’s a great idea. Exploiting in any form should be discouraged. Hardware locking shouldn’t be necessary, especially with players understanding full well that AGS recognizes these loopholes as ways to get around intended features.
how about you just do a 3day guild leave penalty…?? problem fixed
?? So confused at what you’re trying to say, “own measure” - the fact is that most players do have a second account, sometimes more than two - and sometimes others in different colors… it’s pretty commonplace on my server.
Dude, the fact you know 5 people who really did it, it’s not the prove for “most players do”. What it means for you “most players”? From 40k peak players numbers, I guess it’s like 25k+ ? So you know all of them? And you do know that they have second acc? Do you know get it?
