PvP-wise territory control is killing the game. Losers keep losing and leave. Then the losers from those remaining keep losing and leave and the cycle repeats and repeats. Either remove it or assign each person a random faction and reset territory control each week.
PvE-wise, there are too many mutation levels splitting up the player-base. People that do not want to do a M10, find it hard to join a mutation. When people have to wait 6 hours to do a mutation, instead of one every hour, they leave.
I really appreciate that line. If AGS has to help you have fun it’s not fun. There needs to be an element of discovery in an MMO whether it be a new ability you didn’t know existed, a hidden pathway, a hidden game mechanic that pushes the limits of the usual player experience. New worlds has a problem being mundane. The go here and kill 1-15 things has been the main attraction PvE experience. And as far as the PvP goes they have already removed the closest they have ever gotten to combining spells to get cool results.
Server merges increased the chances of New World coming back a little. Now on to the other major pain points of the game, in new or not-established players minds. Fix those and New World can in fact pull a ESO or GW2 without needing to pull a FFXIV.
I agree. The merges should help slow the bleed and maybe bring some players back that stopped playing just because dead server. If they fix the pain points it could bring more back. IMO they are doing a lot of things to improve the game, I just feel its too slow and not enough yet. Its getting close to being where it should be IMO. Just a few major pain points left.
The development has slowed down. We should be seeing major fixes every month but lately just a couple of very minor fixes and seems big updates in PTR come every two months now.
Just look at the state of OPR it’s been clear since last major update that Bow and SNS/Hatchet is very strong but there was no change - two months OPR was broken.
