Any idea for a combat rework?

We tried this combat system and while it was fun at first, lots of flaws started to show lately.

Tab targeting was meta for so many years in MMO’s because it worked, and it worked wonders.

Now, I’m not suggesting to make the game tab targeting, it won’t work, but something needs to be done. It feels like the combat system is not finished, something is missing and dodge spam is not helping it.

I’m thinking about a combination of target focus and the current system being in place. Single target skills should have a homing build in. Like charge for GA and the grenade from musket. You can still aim your attacks but remove the chunkiness of some abilities

It’s not perfect, but something needs to change because what I loved about this game was how easy it was to understand what happens in a battle. Now everyone is spamming shift and aoe skills while getting stuck in group fights not being able to focus one player
