Since day one, I have had a particular policy which I tell almost no one.
It’s simple.
I only use named gear, no other gear, period.
I call this being a purist, not using any crafting gear or random drops. In fact, I would grind an extra 10 hours just to get a ring vs ever buying or crafting it.
I just wanted to check, is there anyone else like me out there?
PS: I used to ignore pvp cause no named gear but ever since they released pvp track, I have been collecting all it’s gear and I now finally play pvp
I don’t use much of it, but I keep all named gear if it was a quest reward from a town (Windsward coat, Brightwood ring, etc). Wish we had a way to display these like thane weapons in Skyrim. I have chests full of named or sentimental items in ESO too, plus items that match my character backstory.
For my tanky New World “loadout”, I only wore Scout armor chests (fox tied to platemail) once I acquired one, even when better chests dropped. In fact, I was buying higher level versions & saving them as I leveled into them. I also like the gathering outfits for luck and immersion.
You’re not a purist…you just don’t have any common sense. What is the ultimate purpose of not using gear that benefits you? How would you pick and choose what is named and what isn’t? You fight naked until Amrine, with your fists? That’s the first named drops that I’m aware of…
