Everything is less fun to play
I played every single class in the last 2weeks. And you will have most fun as ranged in opr. Be it bow/musket/fs.
Well or tank if you have a healer buddy(that is prob the most fun lol)
Bruisers feel strong cause like now I’m running 5con full dmg jsut to kill those archers in the back and sacrifice myself.
No point to run 50-200con when I get shot by 4arrows same time just to die in 2sec anyway

I’m mean no one can honestly say Strength weapons don’t reign supreme in PvE and PvP.
Yea. I’m not even a meele main. I’ve been mage since release. But playing all classes changed my views a lot.
I can only recommend to people to try it

Despite fs being pretty much trashtier. And bow is the most fun you’ll have for a long time I’d guess. Even if they’d gut bows dmg literally by 50%, you’d still see people playing it for the sake of convenience and fun
So this is also sth they have to keep in mind when doing balance changes
I’ve played all weapons except GS. The mage playstyle is the most fun in my opinion. But in every MMORPG I’ve played I’m normally aways either a Mage or Healer. Those are the archetypes I just enjoy.
But with AGS going this route of completely pushing Int weapons out of the meta. Pretty much pretty much all but made me quit New World. If my favorite playstyle is being made to suffer. Then simply I’m going to spend much less time in New World, and much more time in other MMORPGs.

Real PvPers need to demand a return of august beta pre release PvP scaling; that more than anything killed off PvP game in this MMO.
Every good modern PvP game has scaled combat in their MMOs, they mitigate this with horizontal progression items and providing meaningful build diversity that you can easily swap in and out of to keep the content fresh.
As long as gear progression remains a mandatory to effectively PvP the game will only ever have niche PvEers who don’t actually want competition they just want victims.
also shard sellers selling gold for real life money by using in game players as free labor?

They mostly fixed that by moving all the rewards to the end but ye i suppose some ppl may buy even more gold to buy those runs who knows.
Regardless it does amaze me that AGS sought to stop the shard selling but not the root cause of why ppl were buying shards which was mostly to not have to do PvE to play PvP.
It’s almost like artificial friction barriers are bad for gameplay and content

But they have a PvP update on the roadmap so i’ll be paying attention to it and if they deliver some good changes then it will help determine my long term and level of play in this game.
Till then ill roll Fresh start enjoy the first few weeks of caotic World PvP and then casually pop in to the game from time to time when that inevitably dies off because the current design poorly supports it.
So long as scaling doesnt exist PvP will always be limited because it will lose players over time through attrition wo bringing in new ones, the burn rate will just exceed the replacement rate as it does in any MMO that doesnt have proper scaled PvP.

i gave it a full year before i made any judgements, but we all know it’s true now
they are probably hiring 23-25 year old devs with no true mmo experience.
you need older more experienced players that used to play eq1 and then every mmo after to have a truly goood mmo
Game is about Outworld, PvP must have impact in to the world, outside of an instance too like all other features of the game. They put 0 efford till the date to make PvP really feeling a part of the game. no Love.
The director of the game really hates PvP and that feeling is in each news that come, great news for PvE . Nothing amazing to PvP, patch till patch
developers never talk about What is happening with PvP, lot of ideas and no one tells nothing, no one cheers about new PvP ideas. Is like PvP is dead
there is no PK system. no bad vs good. anytime these systems are implemented the good players make the bad players quit. it sucks. because in uo i was always pking in destard killing and looting everyone fully racking up statloss kills, but eventually they all quit because its too hard for casuals. casuals run the game and hardcore players have to succumb to casual rules. it sucks, but thats just how it is. pvp will always be instanced now. to move forward we need better instanced pvp, opr is a joke. dumb fort buffs and consumables. they apply pve so there is a way for bad players to make a difference instead of teaching bad players to be good.
what a waste to those various and beautiful open worlds.
