The CC from melee can be countered with a left shift button or a right mouse button though. The grit is only with 300 str and is only brief windows of each attack. The CC and self-healing has been nerfed into the ground. In order to get any sort of real self-healing now, you need to sacrifice a lot of damage to get any sort of noticeable gains. The base stats of melee might be higher but all melee will have the disadvantage to range in combat because you can either kill or get a melee very low by the time it reaches a range player.

Any ability/attack can be countered with dodge/right mouse button, so whatâs your point? And youâre wrong on grit, charge, execute, whirlwind, and Maelstrom all have grit built into the ability. Warhammer, armor breaker, wrecking ball, shockwave, and clearout all have grit built in. The self healing is more noticeable than FS/IG which has none. Melee also has gap closers while FS/IG have no way to create distance other than burnout which has a long wind up.
This is a weird anology that doesnât work. For it to make sense they would have to be talking about endless fireballs with no cdâs if youâre going to compare to the highest damage skills of all kits, like maelstrom, rapid shot, etc. flamethrower is similar dps to like melee light attacks
They have similar dps. FT does 75% dmg twice a second if all passives taken I believe. So 150% weapon dmg over 1 sec. Pretty sure melee light attacks are 100% weapon dmg. More base dmg for melee, especially GA, so itâs similar dps wise. Not sure what your point was or if you think Iâm saying FT needs any adjustments, which I donât think it does. My reply was to an anology that doesnât make sense
I was just using any ability to show how any ability without a cooldown is not right. No specific reason I used maelstrom. Any damage ability without a cooldown is not right. But I know people that like to spam the persistent damage ability persists with no cooldown are going to fight it cause they like the advantage. I get it.
Iâve played mage and Iâve never touched flame troller. But when I seen mages playing it when i tried hammer/ga I use to eat them up as free kills. Get rid of it idc itâs not very good and only really kills bad players.
Or just change it to consume all 5 stacks of burning once reached as a ramp up burst weapon then it goes on cd for 8 seconds.
I hate to break it to everyone if the fire staff gets any buffs everyone will switch from dex to mage and them a month later it will get nerfed. Some of the FS abilities are a little lack luster but i think all and all its in a good place. Them making fire ball crit made it a very good weapon, and if you have decent skill pillar and fire ball combo does 5k damage easy. Through in a heavy and your either going to kill them or they are running. Flamethrower is so brain dead but its pretty good
You think 5k + 2k from a heavy kills someone? lmao. You are lucky if that combo even does 5k in the first place(if you are hitting someone in light armor), and thatâs 1 HP pot and now the melee is on top of your ass.
