I upvote this it’s been a while since we’ve seen the devs do a playthrough. I think the last time was last yr when they did a run through shattered mountain.
this time I want to see a mage heavy comp do a run of brimstone sands and an in house game of opr and arena w mage use
Can we get the statistics from the devs/community manager to “what weapons players using in both pvp/pve”, we need a chart or graph
If i had to guess after the latest patch it would look like that
-Hatchet(15%)
-Axe(%15)
-Life staff (%15)
-Greatsword(%10)
-Bow(%10)
-Hammer(%10)
-Ice guantlet(%6)
-void guantlet(%6)
-blunderbus(%6)
-spear(%2)
-Musket(%2)
-fire staff(%2)
-rapier(%1)
At the end of the day. Pvp went from being fun with plenty of skill expression. To equip melee weapon and left click. I just cant do it anymore im done.
Was also super mobile FS/Rapier - you could fight 1 vs x almost like bow/rapier.
Also did work well FS/BB. So not only with IG. It just have best synergy with IG if you want play as a mage couse FS do not have any cc. So you take secondary that does have some nice cc.
I am still doing very well with IG/FS. No problem at all, also not in duels (good bow players wreck me everytime of course).
And it is still best to score high in OPR. Not just empty damage either, you also get quite some kills.
I agree it needs a bit of love, especially on the movement side, the walk animation after firing is way too long. Make it like bow.
Some CC also would not hurt, as shower was nerfed too hard and incinerate is too slow with animation.
Dude i have 2500h in game and like 95% of this is as a mage. I playd it even when light armor was crap. And never before mage was unplayable to this lvl.
So please dont tell me what i know and what i dont know. Mage is broken couse have no counter play to mele light attack spam that does keep mage in place.
2500h and you dont know how to mage nice ice wall stops melee im pretty sure the ice aoe slows melee im pretty sure fs has space creating and huge burst. idk man maybe you dont know how to mage
No its not. Would be in good spot if could do anything after jumped by mele. But movment is so f… up that you cant do much. If you dodge - you dodge with penelty and you are in range of GS or spear or many skills from many other mele weapons.
If you stay you die since you cant win close combat vs any mele if he is not full potato.
Mobility is now the issue. And issue was created with mele debuff applied when you got hit, combined with dodge distance made shorter. But basicly the first part is issue.
I want to any of ppl who say mage is fine to show me how they play mage vs x/hatchet or x/ss or GS.
Ok so maybe you have any clip showing how you position on arena? And if you stay 20-25m away from enemy on OPR you are not playing build to its potential. You are jsut stat padding some dmg.
With how mage is designed it should be playd on 10-15m range.
