Decided to level fishing while I wait for patch/server merge. I have not noticed any difference with PvP on or off. Other than not getting ganked ever so often. Does the PvP flag even effect fishing? I know fishing is basically worthless but I am bored.
Lots of kids in the game with low tanks of epeen. I wouldn’t flag unless you want to waste a lot of time running back to your spot a few times. Just leave the flag off and mute them when they start blabbing about you not flagging because you suck or whatever other bs they spout.
No there is no bonus to fishing with the pvp flag on.
I stay flagged, so it doesn’t matter, but it’s a shame that/if it doesn’t apply, especially since fishing is under the gathering section…

It’s a gathering skill so unless someone has an official confirmation of this, not going to agree with anecdotal or heresay.

Fairly certain there’s a description on some “harvesting bonus” item in the game that literally says, “applies to anything gathered using a sickle”… so, my guess is the PvP gather bonus works the same way. I’ve been testing on beeswax and the PvP flag makes no difference.
Yes, there is a reason to be flagged for PvP while fishing. Kill someone with your fishing pole. 
The PvP bonus for gathering is a luck bonus not a yield bonus.

I test it using 20x2 rare hotspot, with and without flagged pvp.
Can confirm it didn’t effect fishing at all.
Cool, don’t feel like I am missing out on anything being unflagged and not getting killed every 30min makes it kind of peaceful.
Well i hope someone official responses to this, wouldnt believe it by comments from players, unless they made a big study out of it.
