AP Server downtime reason and ETA please?

AP Server downtime reason and ETA please? Communication is very crucial for your player base, especially during your launch. Do not keep people in the dark…

Takes like 2 seconds to do some research before you start whining on forums…

There’s litterally a Dev post on these very same forums about it. Did you not look?

it also says that exact post will be updated as they know more, and when its back up

Thanks guys, yeah i did not see it. Good to see

Why downtime on AP servers when US East and West both had servers added with no downtime? Well at least from what I can see by twitter posts. I would expect this from a small company, but Amazon, come on!

Be happy the restart kicked all the afk people from the game.

My guess is that we had reached the limit of our “server farm” for AP. They did add extra servers last night to AP without downtime. This is just a guestimate, but if we have reached the limit of what AP was allocated, then downtime would be needed to rebuild/move to a larger allocation.

Though downtime is annoying (always starts just as I wanted to get on), I appreciate you taking some actions to improve access to the game, given the issues of launch.

Maybe look a bit harder next time.

While i don’t have any special source of information, the first thing that comes into my head was “because they did whatever it was before bringing US West and East online”. There was about 6 hours between the EU servers going live and the US release. The only question that would leave is “why didn’t it happen to APAC” to which i can only offer “maybe it wasn’t completely ready to go when APAC went live”.

Note that APAC has had servers added. A friend of mine rolled on Lemuria because he couldn’t get through the new player queue on Zara and Lemuria wasn’t originally listed as a launch server. Perhaps what’s happening is that the zone regions were built with a certain amount of “extra server” space and APAC blew through that. Why you’d need to bring things down for an hour to fix that though… i can’t say.
