I run with the tanks at wars, and by themselves, like, a single tank, is a joke, is a healer without a LS, just an HP bag that people just walk around and move on.
If you plan to run tank only, you will get bored fast.
What we found out that the tanks “variety” makes them very annoying for point hold and caps, wars/opr wise. We run premades just to do a quick test in OPR and they have an utility to some extent, not the best, not the worst.
Many people will argue that a Tank is useless at wars, we do agree on that, but calling someone a griever for playing whatever build they find better for their likes, is turning this crap into a toxic cesspool. Have fun, collaborate with the general strategy, win-win. At least that’s my personal take, might not be a constant success but people don’t flip sides or just run the meta because it’s OP.
After all, you still need point pressure and control, no matter how good a light bruiser is, it’s not going to work after the skills are on CC.
Tank with spear for stam recovery.
Tank with oblivion/vg and 200 Int for extra annoyance.
Tank with IG for entomb, general slowness and all that.
But all in all, any build with the primary stat at 300 would do better than a 300Con200whatever your secondary is.
pd: the 300con200int VG tank is annoying as hell with blackguard gauntlet. The 300con200dex spear tank with whirlwind for stamina/leeching and sweep is extra annoying and gets a good survivability.
There are plenty of nice new perks that are yet to be exploited and combined.
We use tanks as openers, which lets the bruisers run a medium/lighter build for extra damage, but the general setup changes from server to server, and latency is a big factor that nobody talks about. Old school heavy 300-200 got rebalanced for good, if people want to deliver consistent damage medium or light are the most constant builds.
