Are mages really as weak as everybody says?

  1. you are a Bobby who play it and enjoy top 5-10 scoreboard and take a final screen like you was the boss of the game but you was never at any moment a game changer just cast behind a tree.

You can play effectively in medium/close range but you have to give up on 450 int for 160 con and light armor for medium armor.

Only bad or rooted players get hit by ice spike, the latter being a scenario which occurs once in a blue moon.

Did you just pull this number out of your yeah I’m 100% sure you did.

Again, wrong. It’s close medium range at best, I already can tell you never even tried IG or FS.

Their range is pathetic compared to Bow or Musket and by no means “long range” as you claim.

Fire staff is definitely not long range. The light and heavy attacks disappear after a pretty short distance when compared to bow or musket.

The right side tree are mostly melee range abilities. The left tree PoF and meteor have a limited range that is pretty poor.

Only fireball has potentially a huge range but good luck trying to hit someone with that from long range.

They should do, if they don’t it’s because they are playing better

I am always Top 1-5 in OPR with Mage Builds, same for wars. It is very strong with its AoE and CC potential. Maybe light buffs would be ok but it is in a good position right now

Not true. Mages do more damage in wars than bows cuz even if bow hit harder on single tarjet, mages can do sostenible AOE on points…
I had never seen a 3.000.000 damage score from a bow, mages can hit that numbers.

Void mage is broken, but it’s what props most mage players up rn. Nerf Void.

In mmo PvP like this, isn’t this the case for every build that isn’t meta dps.
Points like this that remind me of the folly of wasting time fighting performance iussues in hopes one day you get a perfect lan like lantency for both parties and have that rock paper scissor game you dream so much for.

bro, game balancing isnt just about who can do most damage throwing onto a point in wars where everyone is clumped up. If you are allowing mages to freely just DPS the points the whole match that’s on you.

You are jumping out of the original context.
You said bows does more damage than mages, and i punctualized not in wars…

Now you are saying bows can do more damage in wars if they play correctly and thats not really true.

Im not talking about balance, im just saying mages do more aoe damage in wars.

They do though, also remember it’s skewed as everyone goes full phys gems and no elemental so that also makes it an unfair comparison of damage when their team has an additional like 20% phys resistance and zero elemental.

its just server based, on my old server vingolf melee was the dominant, after my company transfered to calnogor melee is nesrly non existent (especially after last patch) now our server is mostly mages and dex boys.

Were about 10-15 buffs to mage and nerfs to brawlers away from balance. Those crutches are plenty strong to keep carrying you and yours. GG

I have clips that can shut this down entirely. “Just cast behind a tree” :rofl: Obviously you don’t know how to play mage. What’s ur FS/IG lvl? Like 12? Stop trolling.
Even the most recent screenshot shows out of 138 kills on my team, I have 72 of those takedowns. Do the math. If you think you can hit 900k+ damage casting from behind a tree all game in opr, you probably have spent less than 5 hours in this game mode.

Just equip void gauntlet 4 head. They are about 10-15 buffs ahead of every weapon in the game. Mage made easy.

Top spot on OPR scoreboards seems to be heavy healers most of the time there usualt top 1-3 on both teams followed by greataxe hammer and then bows and mages then muskets. when everyone in OPR rush are in heavy armor or medium muskets do no dmg quick enough to down somone before they get behind something and pop pots and food.

it takes 13 shots to kill a heavy armor guy with a 597 GS musket with 2.5 second CD between each shot.

Just casually leaving out that you’d get a free reload every 5 seconds? I’m sorry but muskets are already very oppressive vs anyone trying to play light so I don’t really get this argument. Guess having range until render distance and hitscan is still not enough for you. :man_shrugging:
