When I fish, I have to reel a fish in. It’s a very specific animation. I’m seeing some other people fishing, and they aren’t doing it the way I do it.
At first I thought maybe I didn’t see others’ animations as I see mine, but I finally saw a 4th person come up and fish the way I was fishing.
These other 3 people are like casting (left click) and then it looks like they are canceling (right click). Over and over again. It’s really odd.
Is there some other way to fish? 
no, they are using macros to avoid getting booted for AFK.
Unfortunately they are macro scummers trying to bypass the AFK timer to stay online when they’re away from the game.
Best thing to do is to just report them in-game for macro usage.

Edit: How do you report someone? I know how to do it when they say something in chat, but how do you do it if they aren’t saying anything?
Also, how do you quote someone’s post when you reply in the forums? 
I saw this yesterday and had me thinking I was missing something, now I know.
The ones ive seen are not trying to avoid being kicked for afk. Ive seen like a level 8 in a level 24 area wearing noobie spawn armour standing in the middle of a lake running this script.
If they are just clicking and not reeling might be a bot program of some sort but you can Click after you reel in to skip the little animation so that could make things look different.
You can report someone by approaching them and pressing ‘H’.
To quote someone, while you are replying, highlight the text you want to quote and you will see a box that says “Quote” pop up on the screen.
There is also a bug i’ve had a could of times that looks a bit like what you are mentioning. I cast and when i hook and go to reel in, it gets stuck in this bizarre animation that looks like rapid cast/pull.
/unstuck didn’t fix it either and i couldn’t open any menus or put my rod away. What did fix it was Shift Tab to Steam overlay
Yeah, I saw this today but my server didn’t have a wait…
Actually, this particular BOT program is not to avoid being logged out. It casts, checks to see if the loot is rare, if not it recasts. They clean out the rare drops and empty the pools then just keep casting until the pool spawns again or the catch would be rare.
As Morninglark stated these people are actually cheating as they arent using this script to avoid afk boots it is literal script fishing for chests / rare loot only
there is apparently a bot that can tell what type of fish you caught (that’s the rumor i heard in my server) and what it’s doing is only catching the rare or better fish and losing the lower quality ones.
