Are we ever getting a graphics fix for RTX 3080/3090 cards?

I have been unable to play much since the Dec 6th patch when something was broken in the game engine. It’s been months now and none of the patches have addressed this issue.

Just sitting in town I can pan the camera around and watch my video card load drop to 0% and frame rates drop way down too, it’s not smooth at all and it doesn’t matter what detail level or resolution I have it set too.

I realize I probably represent a small base of users with this issue but is this ever going to get addressed?

(I have already opened a ticket with Amazon and they never have any information other than our Devs are aware of the issue… Are they really aware of it?)

I had a LOT of issues with my 3090TI,
ended up trading it in.

I know that’s not an option for everybody :frowning:

I play on a 3080 and honestly haven’t experienced anything like this. What pc specs?

I have a 3080Ti, what did you trade it in for and does New World work fine?

Windows 11, AMD 5900X, 32gb ram, RTX 3080Ti. Every other game I have works fine, runs the card at close to 100% load. New world ran fine as well before the Dec 6th patch.

(Maybe this issue only effect TI cards?)

Had a 3900X with 32gb RAM and a 2070* at first and literally fried the card lol.

Upgraded to 3900X with 32gb RAM and 3090TI, and still experienced a lot of the same issues.
Other games ran fine for the most part.

Eventually upgraded to a 12900k with 32 gb of RAM and the 3090TI, but I was still experiencing a lot of problems specifically in New World with frame drops.

So now I’ve got the 12900k and a 4090 and I can keep a pretty steady 60 FPS finally.

I’ve run both a 3080 (first with a 5600X and then a 5800X3D) and a 6900XT (only with the 5600x so far) an not experienced what you’ve described so maybe there’s something to the Ti observation

I had thought about picking up a 4080, but I am not sure if it will fix my issue… I don’t really need more horepower than the 3080TI gives, but I really did enjoy new world before these issues…

The wild part is, I was upgrading specifically for New World,
and I quit playing New World around the time I got the 4090.

Hopefully they’ll get this PTR up soon and Influence 2.0 going and
I can come back :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I feel stupid upgrading for 1 game as everything else runs great… but such is life I suppose…

Really sorry man, definitely at least hold out til the PTR drops, maybe they’ll fix it.

Who knows

Look into flashing your cards Vbios.

Do a DDU of your drivers
Guide here

Should work afterwards.

I flashed the latest vbios (I was already on the current one but reflashed)
I also did the DDU to completely nuke all video drivers and reload from scratch.

No dice… Still the same issue…

This is clearly a game engine problem, not something with my system. I played Dec 6th before the patch and everything ran fine, then after the patch I logged in and the massive frate rate drops started and have not gone away unfortunately.

I do appreciate everyone’s help however.

3080ti 12GB set to performance 240fps no V sync
2k resolution set to 240 fps
64GB DDR5
3 TB m.2 SSD
i5 12900k

I had 0 fps issues or graphics issues from the game set to max Nvidia Geforce Experience Maximum recommended setting. That dynamic resolution setting in game off. I don’t get 240 fps usually in this game though, it’s just my default, but my FPS always quite adequate.

Input lag from playing with people multi 1000s of miles from the server is something I would get though.

3080 here, zero issues.

I run Lasso for CPU as someone suggested in this thread (Stuttering fix. zero stutters in OPR, Towns, ECR) only because in towns I get a weird stutter without it, nothing crazy just noticable.

RTX 3080 at 3440x1440. Playing on “Very High” video settings since beta with no issues outside of the stutter in Towns. I’m at the foot of the stairs in Everfall at 10:30pm at 84FPS. It doesn’t drop below 60 when I pan. The pan is smooth.

What? I also have a 12900K. but only a 3080. I can keep a pretty steady 120fps.
Except in wars of course.

What resolution and in game graphics? H/M/L

I’m at 200+fps 3080 5800x3d, 1440p, low
60-100fps in war

Same resolution and also low. (Does not rly make a difference).
War depends if recording or not and if in a big clump or not.
I have limited my fps in nvidia control center to 100, but only get this in wars when a bit away from the main action.
On point with massive fights and recording it sometimes drops below 60 (55 or so).
Its CPU dependent. I do not run a maximum overclock.

Funny enough I get almost the same on my notebook which is a Ryzen 9000 series and a 3060.

Have you tried setting everything to the lowest possible settings and graphics options to off? If so, what FPS do you get with these settings?
If it improves enough, then start increasing or turning options back on and see where the problem occurs.

Thanks

For the visual folks, running into the war clump, fps enabled

Maybe the 7800x3d raises the minimum bar to 70+
