You think this game would’ve had any sort of staying power with 5 dungeons on launch and no large scale PVP to boot? You’re delusional.

This is no difference. Go on and try and tell me running 300+ FOC with a Life Staff and VG is not ‘playing a healer’. I suppose 300+ STR with axe/warhammer isn’t ‘playing warrior’. Oh, and how about playing Bow/Rapier. That’s not an ‘archer’ is it not? There’s clearly defined roles in this game that fit the bill of character classes and there’s no getting around that. I don’t see what not having tab targeting has to do with it.
New World it only makes sense that weapons are balanced.
So why are they reducing healing effectiveness when burst is so bad and the rends, anti heal and buff removal is already there to counter them? Sounds really dumb to me.
All weapons should be viable, and no weapons should be mandatory.
Are you going to tell me GA/WH isn’t mandatory? Bows aren’t mandatory? Mages- oh whoops IG/FS aren’t mandatory? You have a bias against healers because you refuse to adapt, or learn anything about the game and want to remain some ignorant fucker on the forums who refuses to use any of the counterplay available to him to deal with healers.
You are just biased and want healing to remain OP it seems.
Healing is not OP in its current state and there are counters that you’ve repeatedly been told about and you still want them nerfed regardless. You’re the one who is biased.
I played in over a hundred wars as a healer and adapted to each and every nerf and change upto now. Don’t accuse me of being ‘biased’ just because I stand against changes that would kill the balance.

And yet you have absolutely zero clue how healing on the PTR even works. Like you’re out here sounding bitter and didn’t even know that there is a dampening mechanic in play to the point somebody had to explain it to you. I understand that the healing nerfs are frustrating, but there was no way the live version of healing would be balanced in arenas.
I’ve watched streams of arenas and know what sort of effect thsoe healing nerfs are going to have on war balance and literally any other aspect that isn’t 3v3. I know what sort of effect it’s had on healing numbers. The devs failing to explain one mechanic does not mean that what I’m saying isn’t true. It’s going to fuck wars. It’s going to fuck open world. And all for some 3v3 arena nobody is gonna give a fuck about in a month’s time. But the damage will have been done. You’re short sighted, and are advocating for changes that will fuck healers on a baseline. Doubt you even care. So why should we be listening to you?

But why do we need healers to be so mandatory for every content? You can do any PvE content with healers only. It will take a while but is 100% possible. So you should be able to do all content with only tanks or only DPS. The “roles” should be used to help each other, to be more efficient. I don’t want to join a group as a healer because they “need” one. I want to play with people that “wants” a healer in their group. There is a subtle difference.
And for PvP, why do battles “need” to be around killing/counter healers? Don’t you think that is a good sign that they are a little overtuned? Killing the healers first is (and should be) a good tactic, but I don’t want it to be the only one.
Here I have to completely disagree with you. Tab targeting games are completely different because you cannot avoid damage, so you need the healer to keep you alive. That’s why I think in NW, LS should be more of a support weapon than a healing one. Similar to mobas and fantasy shooters (OW, Valorant…).
With less healing, people are forced to play more careful and builds other than combos/CC become viable. Like bleeding/poison/burning builds that slowly cripples your enemy. Also, AoE damage can become important to counter zergs and force them to spread out, creating a more open and dynamic battle. I could be wrong, but that is how I see.
And on top of that, maybe it will be necessary to reduce de damage across the board or increase our HP pool. But to do that, first we need to nerf healing (otherwise everyone would be immortal).
Could you explain why? It’s definitely going to change wars and open world PvP, but why in a bad way? For expeditions though… We are going to have a bad time surviving in light and with the 1 sec cast time. I’m not happy with this but, hey, it’s another challenge.
Again, all of the above is because I (and some others in this thread) want the game to be slower and more tactical. If you enjoy the fast paced kill or die instantly action combat NW is becoming, you are right to complain about the healing nerfs.
This is one of those rare posts that call for LS nerfs and also a rework to provide something on the trade off. I’m all in with this. No more burst heal? Fine, but get something back that is not a nerfed joke like the VG, or simply remove the LS and lower the HP pots cooldown, I think y’all are okay with this right?
Dude you are terrible player. Ppl want to play other builds so if game mode would force them into healer build they dont want to it would be broken. Stop telling all other players are bad since they cant kill healers. Healer builds are just to easy to escape and heal up. Its always to play nice build that is better than others and think other players are bad since they have issue killing you. But it doenst make you a skilled player.
No and no. It will make wars more interesting that banch of GA/WH jumping on other band of same build and all depending on healers keep them alive. In fact healing is reason wars are bad design. At least one of few major ones.
