These are all fine ideas, but still tho… heavy mitigating 25% damage with no dodges when medium and light can 100% iframe and disengage… I don’t see how that could work. Maybe it’s just me.
This armor thing requires a rework all around and the pieces sets are a fine example for balancing, but having to still take 75% damage while you can just roll or jump away, I don’t see it working.
What about if we shave iframes from all dodges? Get some damage still from skills, but with no dodges I can’t find a suitable use for heavy other than desperately needing a healer nearby for any scenario, specially in clump fights.
A shockwave delivers about 800 damage if you have a weapon perk to a heavy user or even less, but just an example. You waste the skill, there is no CC and you only did… 600 damage, and medium and light just shrugged it off with zero damage.
NGL; I like the idea better of what we got now, but still, you’d be soacking damage and being a hardly-moving target practice.
I mean thats the thing that heavy armor is hard to bite.
Its current dodge just feels like its not enough
Make blocking more important
Dodge meta was fun but dodge should be used for iFrames of big attacks/important moments, not every bit of damage.
Reduce lights ability to escape combat so easily and reset a fight.

Well the thing is that current system is too simplified with nothing to show for really. I mean other than: this guy rolls and has damage, this guy jumps and has less damage and this guy is (currently) dogshit. Boring, outdated and unexciting. It failed the test of time and we all see it in game.
The perk rework have changed a bit but it’s not enough yet. Like 50% weaken on enfeebling skewer is OP
Unless dodge meta shifts to something where you use iframes at key times, instead of all the time (what we have now), meta hasn’t changed enough.
Also rapier still needs adjustments, runny boy bows are not fun to fight unless your a specific chase down spec
Well imo current system is way too forgiving to begin with. Especially for light armor users with shirking energy (not to mention rapiers grace tree). Personally I would like it to change and I am pretty sure I’m not the only one.
Last dev video mentioned heavy armor meta so let’s see what happens
There’s nothing they can do (besides adding more perks or a new mechanic) that I can think of which will buff heavy armor without making medium insignificant.
Assuming that equipload system remains the same.
I think providing set bonuses is a good ieea. Balancing equip loads proofs to be impossible. I’m all for sacrificing some diversity for better gameplay. It wouldn’t even be the first time it happened, see heavy healing nerfs
