Armor Perk "Reinforced" - Time to Change it?

I’d take 5% additional armor on one piece over the 0% additional armor and 0 utility that this perk provides.

I have resilient + insatiable gravwell + reinforced legendary pants. They might as well be a purple.
I’d take a pve mod even.

Exactly.

It doesnt need to be “Top Tier” Perk, but right now its literally 100% wasted/junk/garbage.

Id even take a WARD (Corrupted, Ancients, etc.) over it… Maybe not Beast Ward, but jeez.

5% on that 1 item, might be a bit low. I do think it scaling similar to the Nimble perk would be a pretty decent compromise and not too OP.

so +9.8% at 625 seems like it would be pretty fair and make it a somewhat decent mod.

Heck, you might get heavy armor PVE tanks looking for Ward + Reinforced gear to take more damage. Who would have figured that :stuck_out_tongue:

what if it was reduced damage from grit attacks.

IDK if PVE does Grit Attacks, do they? So this would make it PVP only…

well counter point resilient isnt pvp exclusive when it comes to crafting or drops.

Buuuuuut yes there are gritted enemies so it does work.

mobs will do the same grit shine and cant be knocked but stunned only.

Fair enough. Yeah Resilient I believe USED to work on enemies? Or is that not true. Ive lost track lol.

The perk pool is far too big…they should just remove it. AGS needs to do a “clean up” of the perk pool. Trim the pool down and any time they add a new one, remove an unused one.

PvE enemies definitely do grit attacks.

Any time you see them glow white, they have grit. Just like players.

Musketeers have it, all of the big wolves and tigers and mountain lions also have a charge attack with grit. I think some of the skeletons have it.

IDK about this. That is a very “short-sighted” perspective IMO. Solves the TODAY problem, but doesnt allow them to build on what they have, and it definitely prohibits them doing more horizontal progression in the future.

With the new zone coming out, likely a new dungeon, maybe new end game activities, I DONT want to see a level cap increase. I wouldnt mind a GS bump to 650, as long as it follows the same rules as 600->625 using Umbral. Maybe they increase the Mutations to M15 or M20 even.

But ultimately the best horizontal progression system (should they decide to keep at 625) is more perks.

I think a BETTER solution to the “Expanding Perk Pool” problem is creating a “reforge” system where you can re-forge gear, reroll perks on gear, etc.

This creates more scalability for them in the future.

For the time being they need to remove this perk it’s a useless and wastes my crafting.

Hmm it looks like someone has an two perk armor piece with the third being Reinforced and now wants the dev to turn this on BIS xD

Jokes aside, I loved your idea. It’s pretty useless. I think +9.8% armor per piece would be a great percentage (meaning that you would need to stack all 5 pieces with this perk to have an overall increase of 9.8% on your armor).

Another idea would turn this into something just like the physical aversion perk but against melee damage intake.

Dude, right now all dps weapons do funny dmg to heavy armor when he is buffed with fortify. Ask any musket, bow or fs user. This weapons just tickle. And in additionl that heavy armor can take dust T5 etc. So efect is he get like 500-600 dmg from ranged weapons, while single tick on scared ground heals for more.

I like the idea of making it reduce damage from grit attacks…

Physical Aversion: Reduces damage from physical range attacks
Elemental Aversion: Reduces damage from basic elemental attacks
Durability (insert other name) : reduce damage from grit attacks

well its a good thing people in wars dont use oblivions then. that would be awkward.

Another solution would be to just remove this perk from the game. Along with other useless perks like beast bane etc.

Please re work crafting to give crafters more control.

If reinforced added % increase to phys & magical resistances, then it would actually be a decent perk. I like your suggestion. Right now, it’s literally useless.
