As a solo casual player who enjoys easier content, I have no hope of completing the season pass regardless of my time investment

Maybe they will implement some more solo-friendly stuff in the next one.

I agree the Forced pvp to complete the season is just BS
They should make a PVP only and a PVE Card

You dont have to “complete” the card. You dont have to do any PvP whatsoever to complete the season.

I agree completely, the season pass has to be able to be completed regardless of the content you do, those who want to complete it just by chopping trees should be able to do that, and the same with dungeons and OPR-only players etc.

When it was first announced we were told that it would be completed just by doing the same things we would be doing anyway, which might not be true for everyone. The tasks and xp gain need to be adjusted A.S.A.P, so there is still time to complete the season.

You do know that you have an unlimited number of cards? You can just do the tasks u like, and hit submit and move on to the next one. Yes, you may miss out on the line bonus, but soon made up in speed of getting completed tasks done and moving on.

Also, you have three MONTHS in which to do it.

Is kinda odd that they’re legit forcing players to do content they don’t want to do.

Kind of had the idea of just grinding out the track, and stepping away from PvP, due to how bad it is right now. Can’t…especially when I’m not a fan of this games dungeons/expeditions…

Annoying.

Oh well, will swap between bow and healer for the pvp side of things.

I play every day for about 8 hours. I run my 25 dungeons, cook my food I’ve gathered, play my music to get the extra territory standing, get my gypsum orbs and run 1 or 2 invasions (If I remember to sign up). I’m level 35 for the season pass and have no hope of finishing chapter 4 (current chapter) or 5 because I don’t do pvp and the new dungeon is too much for me (forget about mutations, although I’ve pushed m10 in Genesis). I’ve completed 4-5 cards each day, but there are only so many mobs I can kill over and over without getting burned out. Even with 80 days left, there is no way to get to level 100. I was going to wait until I got to level 60 and get the premium -plus 20 levels, but I’m not going to waste my money. 15 xp for killing an expedition boss? Why can’t we get some stamps for doing any of the stuff I do?

Not really. The completionist in me did finish one card for the satisfaction of it but it felt far less efficient than stamping 3-4 times and handing the card in for a new one.

The person I know who has powered through the season pass did it by rerolling for easy tasks and handing cards in quickly, not from getting the minor bonus from rows or full cards.

You can do chapters 4 and 5 without PVP or the new dungeon -

Chapter 4

Quest: Dearly Beloved
500 level 60 Varangians
40 Town Projects
Use Flame Core forge x5 (each use counts as 1, even if you make multiple, so make them 1 at a time with different forge interacts)
10 Songs on Expert
2 Invasions
10 Activity cards (can hand in after 3 stamps)

Chapter 5

Quest: Showdown
100 Forged Varagians
10 songs with 3 star rating or higher (can be on novice difficulty)
25 major breaches (can be any level)
3 Trials (Siren etc)
100k resources
Use Flame Core Forge x10 (the first 5 from Chapter 4 count)

A couple of responses to recent points.

Activity Cards. Yes, we know that you don’t have to complete a card. Also, some of the contrary responses have good counterpoints about the rewards/efficiency for partial completion, particularly with respect to time-per-task. But I don’t find those totally convincing. Your first stamp on a card is worth 250. Your fourth (in a line) is worth 650. Your 16th, in the ideal position, is worth 1750. The system is therefore setup to incentivize doing everything.

Chapters. I’m currently stuck in Chapter 4, because from the list offered by Ilandriel above, I don’t really want to do Invasions, due to a previous negative social experience there. In Chapter 5, I guess I’ll have to do Trials with no enthusiasm for the same reason, 10x Flame Core Forge which is very expensive (mitigated somewhat by running EF, which I do, and the currently dropping market price for flame cores), and 100k resources which is daunting (19k so far). Not a high level “having fun” there, although EF rocks!

Season Challenges. Aside from quest completion, these are mostly hopeless, or PVP, or both. I could probably do the gypsum orbs if I play enough hours.

Balance: Bingo vs Chapters. So I’m at Season level 40, 6/7 done in Chapter 4, and 3/7 pre-done in Chapter 5. I’m now recognizing that even if I finish the Chapters, I’m going to have a very long grind just doing the bingo cards. (Does the cost per level-up increase?) And that amplifies my original concern: unless I do PVP and aggressively interactive stuff, I will be earning very low Season points per stamp and it’s going to be a long, unfun grind.

I was really psyched for Season 1, bought the premium on day 1, and I love the new exped. But I don’t love the reward structure. I can also see PVPers might have the same concern, in reverse: “I don’t want to go fishing…I want to headshot noobs!”.

I hope the Devs listen and adjust things a bit now, not wait until future Seasons.

(Joking, PVPers, I know you want hardcore combat…headshotting or impaling me is no fun for you.)

I didn’t read the whole thread but I completed the season pass in 6 days 100% solo. Sure, I put some time in but I was enjoying myself. Very easy to do.

I have changed x2 servers in EU region already to complete these non-sense challenges in normal ways to find players to do normal and low level mutator dungeons but noone is doing them. Thy only do M10 dungeons… Until I find a group of random players - I spend hours to do a single normal dungeon or low level mutator dungeon… Apart from that, non of the existent guilds / companies do not want to recruit less geared new or casual or returned players to their guilds / companies… These old players assume themself so elite really… This game is forcing players to become illegal to catch other p2w geared and territory owning guild players to compete against them in both pvp and pve… All of the EU servers are dead because everyone plays solo or with their pre-made 5 ppl friend group and in general the whole server is empty / dead… There are people around but they are not exist when you want to do any activities together… It is like you literally beg them to do some simple contents like dungeons etc lol really…

I probably quit this game when Throne and Liberty and then The Quinfall new mmorpgs are coming. The Quinfall is very similar New World gameplay style but offers more content than New World but it will probably come within 2025.

Lets state a few facts.

What does “completing the pass” stands for?

A: Getting to level 100.

Do I need to complete every single activity on the card to get the pass to level 100?

A: no you dont, it might take a bit longer to progress towards level 100, and you will need to complete several activity cards with missing activities ( the pvp ones for example)

Is it impossible to complete it if I have an actual life?

A: no its not. We have more then 2 months left, so take your time. Do only activities you want to do playing casually, just dont expect to complete every single activity of every chapter. But this doesnt lock you out of level 100.

After these are out of the way we can discuss about the rest.

There is no need to make pass progress faster, the pass was AGS solution for the cries of “lack of content” (not the best solution imo) but we have to play the cards we were given. So if they make it too fast ppl will complete it before 3 months and complain they have nothing to do. I believe the progression is slightly too fast, im at level 35 already, but I will only complete an activity card after its fully marked(tons of bonus xp) I often need to use azoth to reroll of course, but with all the azoth vials available its impossible to run out of.

So if I could provide an advice is, just play how you want it. Complete activities you think fits your playstyle and before you know it you will get to pass 100 weeks before the end.

Agreed! I’ve seen this over and over again the misunderstanding of MMO’s. MMO’s are the option to play with other people, not requiring playing with other people. Forcing pvp/grouping is not an open world. I’ve completed the season and I hope the next one is better, because there was nothing worth keeping in this season. (maybe the new fire rune?) not for me though.

Just focus on getting 3-4 pve activities on the cards and turn them in. The levels fly by.

Go to the shrine on the east side of monarchs and kill those ancients and lynx there. Take a 1 and 2 handed weapon, a bow or gun, a magic weapon, food to make hearty meals and buy cheap 590 gear to salvage. Just get 3 or 4 in any order and turn them in.

There are many areas that have multiple mob types that you can do this in.

You don’t have to group or pvp. Can do it all yourself pretty quickly.

I had a thought while doing activity cards. Two kinds - one for PvP players and one for solos, with the solo cards not containing any PvP activities.

This seems like a logical assumption however, you are missing a number of variables. The tasks on the activity card take different amounts of time to complete. If you’re trying to complete a row or a whole card, you end up going out of your way to do activities that take longer, because you want to stamp that specific box.

If you complete 3 fast activities the xp-per-minute is much higher than if you spend time trying to complete more difficult ones in order to gain a row, even with the bonus xp. If it takes an hour to get four activities and form a row, so 1400xp, that’s 23.3xp per minute, compared to 5 minutes to get any 3 and turn in your card - 1050xp which is 210xp per minute.

Filling a whole card is very satisfying, but also very inefficient.

My partner is already level 100, mostly from turning in cards after 3 stamps, not really going out of his way to grind it.

It would be cool, if we have 3 categorys of this activity card memory thing maybe in:

Combat
Crafting
Gathering

For each of them you have your own section like we have it now i wish also to pin the activity card quests like the regular ones

Yes, I acknowledged that exact point in my long post. Ultimately, however, I think I care more about Season-Points-per-unit-of-Fun, not per-hour, although there’s certainly a correlation. So that’s why I don’t completely agree with the time argument. Also, it’s got to be satisfying to finish a whole card, at least once!

The simplest possible fix (which AGS could do immediately) would be to remove the link between bingo icon and task type. Right now, the shields and skulls are not ones I will often get because they’re more PVP or interactive. If a reshuffle had a chance of converting a skull from “3v3 Arena” to “150 pounds of fish”, then I wouldn’t gripe anymore. But currently it only seems to convert to other PVP stuff.

The only possible reason for AGS to enforce this link between bingo icon and task type is to push players towards doing all types of tasks, and I find that annoying. Let each player do their own thing, as long as all paths are roughly equal difficulty.

There is a little of everything on the cards and you can re roll the options. They have to make the game for everyone not just u.

Removing the link between bingo icon and task type, as suggested above, has no such effect. Quite the opposite: it also allows completion for people who, totally unlike me, prefer to focus only on PVP. Nor does it hurt people who want to do everything.
