As per the gypsum thing

Time gating is what killed WoW. Observe and learn devs. Just remove the time gate and let people level their watermarks and spend more time having fun. I mean you’re going to Grandfather in 600 gear anyways why make it harder for new players than you did for us?

It needs to be time gated.
If it’s not, an IMMEDIATE advantage goes to players that are able to grind.

This keeps things balanced.

The raw materials don’t need to be but yeah the crafting does.

If I want to take a few days and grind a bunch of raw gypsum so that I can take a break from having to grind but still keep my caste on CD.

Is that not every single MMO ever though?

What he means is if the system wasn’t on CD it would be done already. This way they can also tweak the system without having it wide opening for someone to find a way to exploit it.

It’s Gate Keeping on us and Quality Control on AGS side.

Why do you want to be like every other dead MMO?

Why not make it so that everyone has a fair advantage lm,fao

So not only do you not want to reward people for their effort but also stop them from doing more than others? Well, this sounds like Equity. I was born in Socialism and I recommend you live in it for a while. It will be enlightening. I promise.

Time-gated is indeed hated by most that realize what it is.

Although easy grantee expertise increase would be too OP and people would speed-run through the process, creating the very same problem that AGS is trying to fix while incentivizing others to raise their gear expertise.

There are some benefits to expertise system so a compromise to that would be diminishing returns to gypsun orbs/casts. Like, gypsun gems 100% drop for the first one, then lowers after that, and required gems to make gypsun orbs starts at 1, then 3, then 5…

no, it actually doesnt, because they designed the systems such that only the hardcore get 7-8 gypsum a day+ a bunch of random expertise bumps

casuals can get 2-3 gypsum in two to three hours. then log off. before they could have just bought gear they needed, or have done a chest farm and got 2-4 bumps in one hour.

the implementation of their system is very hardcore focused.

Yes, but that’s all within player control. The casuals are still at least making progress, while the hardcores are rewarded for going harder.
But it doesn’t IMMEDIATELY create this giant gap between the casuals and the hardcores.

From a casual perspective, how disheartening would it feel to log on, and half your server is all max gear score because they have no lives/jobs, and can grind all day.

I don’t think BOTH should be capped. I think GETTING the gypsum should be capped, but crafting it should be whatever. That way if you wanna stockpile, you can.
The crafting has no business in being time gated. That I disagree with.

People don’t, that’s why they’re against this becoming a set of dailies you log in and do.

If this becomes their answer to problems-- that is time-gated grinds-- they’re going to be the next one.

lol

What are you talking about? Players who grind already have 590 expertise on everything (with possible exception of jewellery and void gauntlet).

So people that have dedicated time to play has an advantage?

I guess being better at anything or having an advantage because you devote time into it is unfair to people that don’t or can’t commit time.

Ummm, duping already took care of that a long time ago.
