Crafting in NW ist one main feature. It is supposed to offer a great diversity of possibilities. But the Implementation is other than successfull.
Everyone knows the flaws and weaknesses, so does AGS.
What if:
…crafting was much cheaper
…the crafter could decide all the attributes and perks to a certain extent.
…there was wear of items like tools, armor and weapons in addition to damage. The difference between wear and damage would be, item decay couldnt be repaired and one day the item is broken.
…equipment is no longer unique to the character, but has to be replaced from time to time? But the costs will be much lower, than today.
It would change and maybe improve a lot of things in NW ?
I have a 20% chance to get legendary and 80% chance to get trash. So I get 5 rings. Now I need to hope that RNG will roll me 2 perks on 5 crafts where there are dozens of perks available.
So I’ve spent my month being active and grinding mats for the rings to get a change at getting something decent.
Now I need to repeat it for at least 7 more slots.
This is what I don’t understand either. Crafters should be able to reap the fruits of their effort of leveling their trading skills by having control over what perks and stats can be added on a given item. Or at least the item to have only 1 RNG perk while the rest are controlled, or having full control over the perks but its values to vary thus allowing to have the items you want but you will still strive to get the maximum perk values.
If the reason of complete RNG was to encourage players to try off-meta builds and give them freedom to do so, why we don’t have the freedom to craft what we actually want?
Yeah so that’s 325 asmodeum at 350 a piece and 25 ring shards for 2k a pop. Easy ~160k. You can sell 20 sub 600 rings at 1k and 4 remaining rings at 5k if you are lucky enough. You need to put in 120k of mats to get that one ring. What if you are unlucky?
Crafting at high level makes no sense even for jewelry that used to be profitable since drops are much more common now. There’s no skill involved, you can’t work on one piece to make it perfect but have to just roll RNG. Someone suggested a minigame for crafters, not sure it would solve the issue but I would very much prefer to master actual skill and not mindlessly grind mats to gamble.
Agreed 100%. I wish crafters had the ability to make whatever they wanted. The craft mods should be rare, but crafters should have the freedom to create any item.
Its a shame AGS didn’t start off with a system like this. It makes so much more sense and allows people to be creative with their builds. Right now, people don’t have the luxury to try out different perks.
This game is trash when it comes to looting. There’s no reason to go kill mobs in this game. You can farm a couple different bosses in hope to get a rare piece of crafter clothes and thats it.
All other loot is trash that you just blow up for a sad amount of gold that you immediately have to give away in taxes or recoup a small amount of your repair costs.
Streamlining the drops also allows a lot of build variety. If you have a drop, and the perks and attributes are more streamlined, people are more likely to keep the pieces and try out different builds.
Right now, people are pretty pigeonholed into specific builds unless they want to shell out a lot of cash for gear with the correct attributes and perks. I wouldn’t mind trying out a new build with a set of gear with the correct attributes and perks, even if it is 580GS.
Agreed, hate junk gear, and hate the salvage system to get rid of it, just have the mobs drop repair parts, then do some investigation to find out which combinations no one would ever ever use, even with some weird off meta build, and remove them

I got 1 good dropp after 10 legis, btw i think its ok maybe but sometime they could change litten Things in random dropps.

If you Start make it more easy now, the next one Code and say hey want it much more easier and so on.
There will be one Person, every time, who say: make it easier, its to hard because that Person/s dont like grind but grind is good, no game life long where you can got All in 2 weeks or this people should go Player mobas and CoD uf they want all at the beging, got some rare and perfect Things in mmo’s must be very hard work, dat this people who Grind it, can feel special and Honorar for Their work.
An mmo dont need to give there players perfect items in the first Months or maybe years, its hard and long work for a good feeling at the end :3 and i know what i say, i Player metin2 for so much years and there was more grind as you can think, so much more as in NW and if you got one perfect Thing you got Honord, this is my Dreamteam in NewWorld

Firestaff user here and have to agree. On my (hmm, maybe 50th) Genesis run I scored a sweet sweet Legendary Fire Staff. I was so so pumped… until… I realized it was full dex. What in the actual fuck is that… It’s hard as hell to get in to the dungeon, it’s hard as hell to hit 590 to even get thame chance of these dropping. It’s harder to get high 590s let one 600. But to make it last all of those gates to get a bastard child joke of a weapon. Screw that
Maybe reduce the number of dropped armor / weapons and rework perk buckets so that irrelevant combinations happen super rarely. This would also work for crafting. For now each perk has the same possibility to roll. Introduce different sets of probabilities dependent on a primary stat, same as with stats that have different roll chances depending of weapon type. For example GA has 30% to roll strength.
This should still keep the variability but at least if you roll GA with Focus (rare) it’s going to have some focus related.
