[Aurora Project] What New World could become

Greetings to all.

The so-called “[Aurora Project]” is a set of ideas divided into several Post, where they will be treated individually and precisely. It is very important to understand that these suggestions are my way of understanding and improving New World, and that of course any other opinion is totally valid as well. I ask for the maximum possible respect in these Posts that I am going to discuss, and if anyone wants to comment, I would ask you, please, that they read the entire Project, all Post with the Tag “[Aurora Project]” and written by me: “Lobo_Necrodes”, to understand its objective.

More Posts will be added over time and with new ideas. I accept contributions from other users who send them to me by Private Message to continue creating a “New World”.

I’m excited to see that Amazon, a giant company and perhaps the first in many years capable of facing the titan Blizzard and its World Of Warcraft, has decided to make an MMORPG.
Hopefully big, big changes will come and raise New World to a whole new level of quality.

I have always thought, and I am sure that I will repeat it a thousand times during this Project, that “good ideas” are what differentiates a star product, something that stands out above the average, from an ordinary product. In this case we are talking about video games, and I believe that a video game may have the best graphics on the market, the most polished mechanics, or the best history in the world, but if all that is not based on the pillars of “good ideas” and “small details that make the difference”, in the end it will end up being any product; and we have many examples of this in cinema, literature, music, painting, and in general anything that is “art”, and of course video games are also part of this.

I think that for a video game, in this case an MMORPG, to become a benchmark, the person who makes the decisions must be passionate about this genre, and not simply a person who knows how to lead a work group; I do not want them to think that I despise anyone nor do I want to be disrespectful, but I hope they understand my point of view. I believe that a person who loves MMORPGs and who has 20-30 years of experience with them, playing them and loving them, will always know what the public wants and will have better ideas than someone who does not love this genre and who does not play MMORPGs in their day to day.

With this Post I want to contribute my grain of sand to Amazon and New World, so without further ado let’s start with the [Aurora Project]. I trust that you will enjoy it and that, by reading it in its entirety, you can imagine a New World full of life and possibilities.

It never will be top 1.
It’s an indie game, on indie price tag, and it’s fine for that. Just don’t get the illusion that it’s more or could be more.

Also I read some of your ideas and kek, I’m glad you ain’t in charge, that would kill the game even faster lol.

well yes “not modifying the existing servers, will rather split the development resources” for something completely different, and why not a new game while we’re at it?

I applaud the effort but these changes are drastic and will most likely never be implemented as a separate server only solution for the very same reason why there won’t be a PVP only server: it will split development resources and increases the burden of maintaining multiple versions of a single game.

I’m not saying these suggestions are useless but if they’re ever implemented in some form it will apply to the only version of the game.

This is an entirely different game than WoW. And the demographic aimed at with this title is not the WoW demographic. I’ve read through your posts, and specifically the class system post. That is the most antithetical system for this entire game. It would turn it into an entirely new game. What you’re looking for is WoW 2. Not New World. WoW 2 is called FFXIV. It has all of these things you have described in these posts. And this is highlited best by your own words.

I love New World not for what it currently is

You do not want to play New World. This phrase is thrown around a lot on this forum, but I don’t think it fits anywhere better than here.

This game is not for you.
