I don’t hate the Azoth system but it does have issues. I think the cap should be raised to 2000 and the encumbrance penalty should be based on how full your bags are (%) not based on weight.
Problems I experience:
-
You can hit the cap easily and it sucks to need azoth so much and just throw it away when you finally get into an invasion or OPR.
-
If you’re out of azoth it’s very difficult to sign up for an invasion/war because you have to run their first. If you don’t get selected you wasted a ton of playtime, you’re way out of the way and still have to spend more time to get back to where you need to be.
-
Thus… I feel discouraged from trying to sign up for invasions unless I’m already at the town.
-
I feel discouraged from helping other players because of how much time it will take for me to run to them or how much of my azoth budget it will cost to get to them and back.
-
I feel penalized for gathering because I know it will only make the problem even worse.
-
If I’ve been farming or gathering at all I can easily spend half my azoth cap just to get to the shed I store those materials in.
This isn’t good for the game.
I don’t think the base costs are that bad now but the weight penalty makes it too expensive. I think changing it to be based off of % of bag space used and raising the cap will make a huge difference.
