That’s also the reason why I’ve tried to get people to stop re-posting negative articles.
Even if it’s completely false, it will have a negative effect.
If you read an article in the papers about the economy going bad, people will start doing things that will make the economy go bad.
It’s extremely easy to influence people and I have the impression that certain companies are actively “sponsoring” these hyped negativity. (for example with Fallout 76)

The only number that you brought up is a meaningless, useless peak player amount number.
That does show you nothing outside of “X people were logged in at that Y moment”.
You got the link to add up the server population per day for each individual server and you refused to look at it. You refused to look at high population servers and the queues that are still normal for some of those servers.
The game is doing perfectly fine, just because the peak number goes down does not mean that anything bad is about to happen.
Remember, this is an MMO, people play those for years and not a single weekend. Without looking at the actual active player base you can’t convince anyone of anything here. Go find someone who will listen to your doomsay without any clues of what is actually going on.
I really doubt they sold 17 million copies tbh. How could they sell 17M copies but only have a 900k players peak? 16.1 million people left? That doesn’t make sense to me.

No I believe the game is in trouble but not dying. I argue the numbers on what I see and dont pretend they are irrelevant.

I’ve kinda expected this from the get-go.
I’m hoping for a revival, which a lot of other games have done (and some succeeeded), to bring back a lot more new players.
In my estimation it was a high peak at start/launch, going down b/c criticisms/hype, doing mayor revamp on the game : lotsa players more.
That’s my hope.
I still play for a couple of hours every day pretty much. Hoping AGS gets it fixed and it lasts.
The gamer-streamer are pretty much extended tik-tok commercials between feet conventions these days IMHO. Even then who watches youtube without adblock these days anyways?
Their best strategy would be to define the big revamp and work on it silently. Introduce a few minor, but popular features. (something stupid like pets and more customizations)
Pay off a couple of popular streamers; not that hard to do.
Launch mayor path + bought streamers = good times hype
For me neither of those would be selling points but I know they make some happy.
Mate, player base has decreased by 80% since launch, how can you say that no one cares? I care, and all the people on my server care. A server that was full couple of weeks ago, now has 300 people logged in barely at peak hours. There are no wars, economy is dead, no one does town boards, etc. Why are you defending the game so much when clearly, game is dying?
Do you think that I came here to shit on the game and waste my time? That I and all other people came here because we hate the game? I want the game to succeed but what you are saying is beyond idiotic.
Server merges won’t solve a game that’s dying due to no progression, no endgame, etc. Once they merge the servers, those servers will become empty sooner or later. But I guess due to your fanatic love towards amazon, you are having hard time comperhanding that.

Youtubers of various sorts tend to follow trends to maximize their views, that is probably true. However, no YouTuber is going to convince someone that he or she is having a terrible time in the game when that’s actually not the case. Something of what they said must’ve resonated with part of the players.

Either bots gave up on my med pop server or they did a pretty good job at fixing them. 0 fishing bots the last 5 days no a single ore bot.
I guess it depends on the server
There was a few other posts I saw that just showed videos of hordes of bots at the starting areas
I’ll tell you a secret. Topics on this forum appear not because of YouTubers, but because of the quality of the product.

I am guessing they dont sell as much gold as they hoped for. Price was dropping before the duping became widely known. They are probably giving up. I tranferred servers and the first week it was a lot of gold spam, havent seen a gold spam message in 4 days at least
