While I understand the game is being plagued with exploits, bugs, internal errors, corrupted files, and duping- I’d also like to point out that one of the core features of any MMO is balancing. I’d assume that there is a team dedicated to handling weapons, armor, attributes, and perks- however, with the exception of the recent change to the lifestaff, we have yet to receive an actual balance patch.
Currently, we have 7 weapons (to my knowledge) out of the 11 that are misbehaving.
- Great Axe: Blood Lust still can be maintained permanently
- Fire Staff / Life Staff: Machine Gun style Autos
- Fire Staff: AoE’s falling through the planet/not registering.
- Life Staff: Overlap of fortitude with Resilience makes heavy unstoppable.
- Ice Gauntlet: Pylon still bugged / AoE’s still not dealing damage for full duration
- Hatchet: solid 70% of Elite farms, Expeditions, and PvP consists of players running around trying to one shot everything.
- Bow: Abilities will “shoot” (making a sound animation), but not actually firing.
- Musket: Needs… Love… A lot of love. Like, a whole new level of love. Needs trait reworks, needs new skills, should be able to move while loading special shots. needs higher scaling.
Balance is just as important as every other feature in an MMO. It creates diversity, and also welcomes unique playstyles that help expand a game’s potential. As of right now, wars have become a brawling pit. Heavy armor supersedes all other builds. There’s basically no point in having a bow or musket in war with the current exploits due to the fact that heavy can take 10-15 shots before needing one heal to reset the 20-30 seconds of Auto attacks that were just performed. In perspective… a solo healer could keep 3 players alive with divine embrace just by pressing one button every 5 seconds. Spike healing outweighs ANY spike damage in this game, which should never be the case.
