Ban great axe and haste potions until balance fix - it destroys 50vs50

If you all haven’t read this post, you should. Very well put. If you’re not GAxe / Hammer / Lifestaff in heavy armor, you can basically forget the big fights.

Only one ice gauntlet works in groups now, or even outside of them if someone’s trying to help on corruption areas.

The single stun that spear has only last 2 seconds and is broken if there’s any damage. Not much use, tbh. Animation is pretty long for the vault kick that applies this, so it’s easily dodged/interrupted. Needs grit, and/or a longer duration after it hits.

Except they get hard countered by ice gauntlet… which is required in most wars now

IG is actually not even wanted now. No reason to have it with only one aoe that’s counted for damage. Just a wasted spot.

You can stack gravity wells, but Ice Storms will cancel eachother. KEK.

Shroud’s whole company/faction wants Great Hammer’s stuns fixed.
Great Hammer pushbacks were brought up, Path of Destiny, but they didn’t go far into it.
They want armor penetration Gems or reduction in Plate Armor physical/elemental protection.

They’re talking about fixing the Great Axe ONLY for Gravity Well.

If any hit the table, and that’s melee, Great Hammer would go down first. That’s if you’re pointing this all towards PVP, Stabzero?

Imagine complaining about G axe in wars while fire and ice gauntlet have a perfect circle to put their aoe on and we as melee have to stay inside it. HAHAHAHAHA Holyfuck, dont forget about healers, try finding how many topics are created about life staff and gauntlet. We have people crying about hammer now on discord as well, want to perm remove it. Seems like every weapon is a problem.

Most important weapons for war:

  1. Life staff
  2. Gauntlet
  3. Fire
  4. Hammer
  5. Muskets
  6. Great Axe
  7. Tank
  8. Spear
  9. Hatchet
  10. Bow ( Could be much higher on the list but its so hard to play, most of the time not worth the risk recruiting)

No its really not. With testing. Throwing a storm on someone then animation cancel stun vault kick into a fast swap to shower and its over before the fights started for most melee… I mean I have done it to people in 3v1 situations and won with just that combo no real skill in it with how mages work atm besides aiming. And baiting. And if you don’t like the spear go hammer. The 2 seconds is all you need to be honest to throw down ice shower so they are basically rooted then ice storm then into regular attacks and or heavy and you will burn a tank easily and or mage user or anything really. Life staff is the only counter and that’s if they don’t keep CC chaining you in the storm. If you play a well experienced player the telegraph for the spear kick is almost non existent

The real issue here is the Hammer. I’m currently using the Axe and plan on running the Hammer again once I’m done leveling up the Axe. Sure, it deals plenty of damage (as it should), it closes gaps (as it should), but it gets hard countered by Ice Gauntlet and the Hammer.

Dude, do you even bother to read any of this before posting? Let’s try this again:

Ice Gauntlet DOTs only counts the most recently applied. They DO NOT STACK. You can have 40 of them cast on you and only one will tick damage. As far as I know, this is the ONLY DOT/AOE that does not stack if multiple of them are cast on the same target.

Ah, ok. I must be having bad luck then. Everyone pretty much grits through my interrupts or berserks out of my slows/roots from spear/ig. Plus, taking Vault Kick means losing a ranged knock down with javelin, or sweep for the area kd in front of you. For groups, your perforate + 30% rend is necessary, so…hard choices to make, lol! And the damage from any of the spear skills is negligible against someone in heavy armor unless you land all three perforates :unamused: I won’t even get into the fact that Great Axe’s lunge with their attacks seem to reach farther than a spear’s attack…

But anyways, not going to complain about my proficiency with the spear/ig. If I went with GAxe I’d be here defending it so they didn’t change anything, like many are here doing. Even though it’s SO busted and over-powered. A monkey could use it successfully…

Thanks. :sweat_smile: I assume you’re thinking that all of them that are cast in the same area by multiple ice gauntlets do damage. They do not.

You don’t rely on spear for damage just the CC into your Ice Gauntlet abilities and damage. Its completely messed up. It’s a powerful combo. Almost any CC weapon in a skilled players hand paired with ice Gauntlet can easy burst ability anyone and win in seconds… regardless of their armour or con. The only true counters I see are running away, having sword and shield and then it’s a 70% to 30% you win since you would need heavy Armour to sustain and blocking the shots… and HOPE the vault kick doesn’t land when you are mid Animation of an attack to end the rest of your hp. But life staff heavy focus etc is technically the only real counter I see to it. IF they don’t also use the ground ice shard spike or whatever the ability is that if you’re in a certain range… which isn’t hard for a CCed player in a root storm and etc to get that range… which it can do from 5k to literally 15k damage if landed just right… my buddy went 400int and can 1 ability chain pop a full heavy and 300 con player and that is not balanced at all

hey read my post again its only one line, it says all persistent aoe if you didn’t wanna scroll back up, most others won’t be affected in practice because theyre much smaller and/or shorter

Ah, I misunderstood. Sorry. I know that Fire Staff’s AOEs stack if several of them are firing off, as well as the bow’s poison / rain of arrows stack. The poison is persistent, and the bleeds with barbed arrows all stack. The only one that does not stack is the ice gauntlet’s ice storm.

They only weakened Ice Storm in wars because its effect exposes weaknesses in the engine code when wars become unplayable. Gravity and other aoe skills are untouched and still stacks. This is ridiculous and not fair, desperate move from AGs but thats how it ends when you change direction from survival genre to MMO with engine not prepare for MMO enviroment. It was not balance fix, I say it again, its was attempt to hide survi engine lacks

This is my experiance, I like playing bow, I get that it’s more difficult to play, it’s also incredibly easy to dodge arrows unless you get some point blank-ish hits. I came across a Great Axe + Lifestaff user who was taking on players 1v1, 1v2,1v3 and 1v4 and cleaning up. Literally cleaning up. His lifestaff auto’s were out damaging my bow auto’s (i’m full dex). And If I charged a shot up, he we would just side-step to avoid damage OR I had a hist-scan issue and even though perfectly lined up, the damag wouldn’t register.

It’s killed my enthusiasm for PvP, because the weapon combo’s I enjoy playing are just ineffective. Great Axe builds, LifeStaff builds just absolutely dominate in PvP. As far as I’m cocerned, there’s multple balance issues. Armor, heavy currently dominates, light gear does NOT apply the damage benefit’s it’s supposed too nor does it provide enough of a reason to use it. As far as weapons go, there are clearly balance issues with a number of weapons.

I figure, what’s the point in flaggin up, when 90% of the players I come across are using OP/Meta weapons and I stand zero chance.
