As @JakeL mentioned sadly we cannot address anything related to bans, you will need to place a ban appeal through this link: Appeal a Penalty - Support | Amazon Games, if you have placed an appeal already please keep in mind that multiple appeals won’t accelerate the process.

As well if your appeal has been addressed already then more appeals won’t change the resolution.

This almost happened to me since I practically did the same thing as you, completed the fishing questline at lvl 29, got to 10k fish shortly after lvl 60
I almost couldn’t complete it though because I got permabanned for “showing unreleased content”
But this was around October, the month I first even knew about the game, was just doing 20hr fishing streams and I wake up to that one day

So I 100% understand your frustration

The playerbase is also pretty “crazy”. You’ll literally get reported left and right just for being close to a node and afk for 2minutes. People have this insane bot obsession lol

nah, no one banned for fishing…and just bcoz ppl reporting you, doesnt make you auto banned…i have toon with high aptitute lvl, and i know lot of ppl reported me thinking im a bot. but no, im not banned.

and you stop questing at lvl 18, then straightly goes to fishing to high lvl area? spendin your time fishing till lvl 5 aptitute?
tht mean u know wht you’re doing and wht your targeting…

Thats because we report BOT day after DAY, and they still steal ou node i guess …
But yea being factionless after level 25 => 99% of the time BOT => instan report. I would have report the fisherman sadly…

Cause people play the game differently. And you’re part of the problem, not helping if you randomly report people after 5min staying at a point.
I was lvl 60 before even being close to the Starstone expedition questwise.
Most people will just deinstall and move on instead of dealing with Amazon customer support.

This game has been notorious for banning people for the tiniest bs due to autobann system and one of the worst customer services in mmo’s uptodate

not even a thousand report can get you banned…

if you fishing in the game, MANUALLY…factionless or not.

report is necesary to keep a sus char in check…

You’re aware the main tactic for winning wars and gaining territories was mass reporting leaders and crafters for the first 4months of this game? xd
You had people banned within one evening
And it wasn’t even many needed. Like 10-20reports

yes, im aware…politic report, but not perma ban if the review found it nothing happaned.
a report about “something”, doesnt mean you got banned for the “something”, maybe ags find “something else” tht youve done “something wrong”…
on crafter, prolly banned for rmt? bug abuse? ever heard of it?

and like i said, being factionless, never gonna get you banned, even after thousand of report tht you’re factionless…

You’re banned, trying to get through the support seems to be insanely rough via AGS.
I got banned as a kid in a game I really cared about for no reason cause ppl were reporting me for hacking cause we were simply good, training playing esports.
Took me freaking 2 months of appeals to get unbanned. It sucks as hell to go through that. And with ags it seems to be pretty rough

nah, i never said all ban are justified…coz lot of ppl here got perma ban, but then their ban finally lifted. so yes ags did something wrong there…

and if this fishing dude, “factionless, stop questing at low lvl, strightly jump to fishing till high/maxed fishing, with 5 aptitude lvl, fishing in high lvl area, and he said he’s a NEW player”, think tht he’s doing nothing wrong, he can give a try to fight for his right…like others did and got their acc back after wrongfully banned…all i can say is just goodluck…

welcome to the darkness homie - my good friend had a fully leveled (625 everything) character with 800k plus gold. We played everyday for about 6 months. One day we were grouping up to go cap a fort (running from windsward portal) and his game crashed. When he tried to log back in it said he was permanently banned for cheating. Long story short, 2-3 forum posts and 30+ appeals (one each day for a month) later and he is still banned. His account activity (requested from amazon) says Easy-Anti-Cheat gave him 2 permanent bans within the span of 1 minute at the exact same time as him accepting our group invite. The worst part? He will probably never get unbanned because we learned that EAC doesn’t record WHAT it bans you for, and AGS is at the mercy of just accepting it is right in any situation. He was playing off a laptop and was running a 3rd party fan-speed controller which what we have decided is most likely to have caused the issue (EAC has had issues with root-access fan controllers in the past). 2000+ hours gone to waste.

Honestly, it sucks, but your’e probably better off getting banned now because you probably have something on your computer that EAC doesnt like. Its better than putting 1000s of hours into a character and having it get perma banned for no reason, only for AGS to sit on their hands and give absolutely no customer service at all to you.

I have helped many, many people in here get overturns from EAC from events like the one that you just described.

If it turns out the culprit was a legit program, they will overturn it. They aren’t monsters.

It just turns out, that a lot of people i’ve helped, that were unable to get overturned, didn’t tell me till after a whole ordeal that they actually bought gold previously, or actually were using something they shouldn’t have after feeling guilty enough that i went through all of the trouble.

From experience, i can tell you that if you legitimately did nothing wrong - submit your logs and follow the process. They will never tell you specifically what caused it, (in the case of EAC, they will patch for that particular program if it’s legitimate) and revert the ban.

This is inaccurate, the process they use for patching programs requires them to have logs for triggers. Otherwise they wouldn’t be able to patch for program updates that trigger warnings. (Behavioral heuristics)

IE: If a 3rd party fan controller caused problems, it would be in their best interests to be able to fix it. Otherwise you would be looking at a catastrophic number of false bans with no way to correct them. ect.

(Short story) I helped my brother with a similar situation, after exhausting all known remedies at the time -couple years ago- i find out that he was paying for cheats the whole time, and getting around the bans when he finally came clean.

You just, never know.

Right… you again. The “people don’t always tell the truth guy”. The “I trusted someone and they lied so now I don’t trust anyone” guy.

Maybe I misunderstood the moderators post above:

That means he has a limited number of shots to get an appeal. His first appeal was rejected within 2 minutes - he straight up said “I’m going to appeal this”, typed out a message, and said “Okay sent… now we wait”. Almost immediately after, he said “oh man they already replied” and it was a message about how his ban in… wait for it… Lost Ark!! (he never even played it) was going to continue. So there goes his ban appeal shot… nice. Either way, like I said, we tried 30+ times after to no avail.

We are all over 30 years old and some of us HAVE cheated in multiple games (e.g., path of exile, runescape, warzone, etc) because after a certain amount of hours the games get boring and we like to mess around, usually getting banned but doesn’t bother us cause we were done with the game anyways. He has no reason to lie about it lol we would have all found it funny if he did.

Here is one for you Mr. Morellis… My friend actually DID cheat in new world. His brother bought the game on his own steam account but didn’t like it. So my friend leveled it to 60 and would periodically log in on that account and try exploits from the forums and such on that account. In fact, he duplicated 200k+ honey when the consumable “swap” duplication glitch was active. He also paid IRL money and bought gold on that account, used it to make more gold, and then sold that gold to a website that gives you credits to buy gold in other games. He also used the hatchet exploit (when you could hit for like 6k lights because of a bugged ability) combined with a speed exploit to top OPRs as a fresh level 60.

So I guess, in a way, you are right. He did cheat, and, again, he told us all about it. But the important part of this story is: that account is still active. 200k+ honey a storage, 100k+ gold, that was purchased from a 3rd party website, impossible OPR K/D records for a fresh level 60, etc., etc., etc. But instead, his legit account that he said he never did anything on, is now double permanently banned.

I know a guy who is has been openly fish botting for months. No bans. Interesting.

As a side note:

Say it is inaccurate, I’m just repeating what I heard from the community and moderators after making 2-3 forum posts over multiple months and reading many, many other similar posts. My guess is that they do actually have some logs, but they are not readily available and take some work to get - I don’t know how it works, but certainly an automatic response within 2 minutes of an appeal (not accounting for that actual time it takes for an email to be sent and received both ways) with the wrong game title listed was not enough time for them to accurately look into the issue.

I really appreciate your candor. I do enjoy helping others more than just about anything, in all things that i do. I helped build our community in aeternum for just that purpose!

I somehow feel that these two things are related.

I will say, that customer service most likely at the face of it has extremely limited tools to work with. Most likely when the account is pulled up they are given a prompt. Certain codes for perma bans they most likely have very little leeway with from the start. But i really feel like they only hand those out in extreme cases.

But the thing to note is that EAC bans, and in game moderation team bans are entirely different, and have different rules regarding their responses and how they are handled, i’ve learned that much.

EAC bans are entirely dictated by EAC, and logs are the only thing that they care about. It’s more or less automated otherwise, (i’m assuming a human runs the log through a program)

But moderation team bans or suspensions can result in a great deal of back and forth. I know a lot of people don’t realize the difference (some don’t care) but i really feel like in all of the cases that were successful in being overturned that the person on the other side really did care about the situation when it came to the moderation team members.

A lot of people are not sending their logs in either, which in those cases where we did it took about 7-14 days for a final response from EAC and an overturn.

The other thing is approach is incredibly important, i’ve seen some of the emails that people are sending for appeals and if i were on the receiving end i wouldn’t respond to it either. I get that some people are upset, angry and everything inbetween. But there are actual humans on the other side that have to read this stuff and figure it out.

I really feel for everyone on both sides of the situation in the case that nothing was done wrong, so i offer help to anyone that feels like they were mistakenly identified as a cheater.

This is the exact same thing that happened to me quite a while back and i never got my account back and was just told to buy another by support, Its amazing how much they do not care about the player base and only give you scripted replies when you contact them and get no real help.
