how do you find the musk to start the quest, help wanted

There is a beginner quest where you are sent to one wolf den/area to kill around 5 wolves. (And collect musk from each wolf you kill)
You are then sent to another wolf den where you plant the musk.
If you haven’t had to do that, then you haven’t picked up the quest…
It seems that there is a bug/glitch when you enter 1 of the dens near Windsward, it triggers the ‘Musk’ quest, even though you don’t have it.
Then it tells you you are abandoning the quest if you leave the den…
It be a BUG…
