BARNACLES bugging on final boss ruining entire runs (last boss never spawns)

They need to figure out what the problem is and introduce a hotfix shits happening like every 5-10 dungeons for some people. Would feel great to get to the end of an M10 and have this happen.

Damn guess AGS really doesnt give a shit about Barnacles being bugged to point of it not only wasting the players time but being incompletable.

They cant be bothered to notify the playerbase this dungeon is broken so they can at least make informed decisions on how theyre wasting their time?

Yep. This happened on my first run doing this dungeon. I haven’t had the will power to try it again yet! lol so crushing to my moral

Unstuck only works if you use that within the first >however many seconds unstuck takes you back< (i think its like 15 seconds or something)

Thats how our one got out. But when we used unstuck it just put us back in the boss room since we had been there trying to figure out what we needed to do.

Yep they dont give a shit at all. Ignore the patch notes for 1.6.6 tho especially the part where they fixed the bug youre describing

We’re looking into this. We’re aware of a delay in spawning within Expeditions which might have impacted this (and is a priority issue we’re working on solving), but I’m checking to see if that’s the issue here or if there’s something else going on.

As pointed out in other threads. These delays did not occur until the worlds were merged before the summer festival. There is a direct correlation to concurrent users on worlds and how bad these issues in expeditions get. Interestingly enough the other night we had an instance that was very buggy with extremely slow respawns. Eventually there was a server crash message that everyone in my group got, it was also discussed in global so I think the server for the instances crashed, we immediately got back in and the next instance was as smooth as we’ve experienced in a very long time.

This crash was a very short duration thing that simply ported us out of the expedition and back into the world via a loading screen with a popup message. We were immediately able to get back into a new expedition.

I’m not saying the merges caused the problem but something changed contextually or in the code around that time that introduced these performance related issues.

Not sure if related, mobs in Outpost Rush are often extremely delayed in spawning as well

Match starts and no mobs are up, you run to their locations and they don’t spawn.

Sounds like you waited around and it just didn’t spawn in, right? So this is different than the other delayed spawn issues?

Also, does this happen for other bosses? Or just this one?

Really crappy way to end an expedition. Super sorry about this and we’re gonna work to track this down.

It was only the final boss. Spawn delays for random mobs has been an issue since the merges at the beginning of the summer festival but never boss problems (except when the caretaker spawns regular mobs midfight in gen *and they are delayed).

We waited for 5 minutes, nothing happened. She kept spinning in her tornado and did / took no damage obviously.

After that we tried to leave. Were not able to leave via leave expedition even though we were not registered in combat at the time, and so we logged off.

The one time I experienced Neried not spawning. Was a respawn on a wipe. My group wiped on the first attempt, it was a pug. The group all re-entered the arena and rebuffed. It took a bit for the tornado to spawn and none of us noticed she wasn’t in it. When we approached the center the starting gate closed but the boss didn’t appear or spawn. The work around was for our entire party to exit the arena she spawns in. Some of our party was able to unstuck to port backoutisde some was not. Those of us who couldn’t had to disconnect long enough to leave the party. This put us in a que that we had to wait 15m through and somehow by miracle the people who were inside stayed and waited for us. They reinvited us, and after running back to the boss and entering the arena she spawned correctly and we killed her on the next attempt.

Of note, I do recall that on this same group - we experienced the lag in the ghosts spawning from the chests before getting the fuse as well as the ghosts before the swinging axes and after them. We basically walked the entire distance after the first boss to the door that requires killing the mini boss to open and waited for that boss to appear. We bypassed and skipped like two rooms of trash the delay in spawns was so bad.

Slow spawn has been seen in OPR and Invasions as well. I’ve noticed it multiple times in the past two weeks minimum.

My group experienced something very similar on Valhalla running M2 BnB. We got to Neried on track to finish gold and here’s what happened:

1st - Boss doesn’t spawn in so we all use “unstuck” to leave arena
2nd - Boss spawns in after a long delay then we get insta wiped
3rd - Same as 2nd
4th - Finally a normal spawn but we were unable to defeat her
5th - Boss doesn’t spawn. We just give up and leave.

I’ve done two BnB mutations this week and both were bugged at last boss. You’re 0/2 Amazon! I’m beyond frustrated. Last week I lost 3 mutation runs because of server issues and now this. Is it too much to ask that the game just works?

With my group we also had issues with delayed npcs in M10 Tempest on Neishatun and this seems to spawn fire circles all over the fighting area which means we had no where to go and had to take the fire damage.

When the boss won’t come down, the whole group can unstuck which will take us outside the boss room and then the boss will work properly but it causes the group wipe counter to go up.

I see you are in the arena: Just don’t enter the arena if the boss is not there.

Happened to us at the first Barnacles boss and I believe the root cause might be because of the delay that enemies spawn when servers are packed. Best way to go about this is to just unstuck which will count as a wipe unfortunately, but it’s still easy to get gold

Unstuck doesnt normally count as a wipe. My guess is your whole team did this at the same time? Usually everyone has to be on a load screen at the same time for group wipe to get counted in mutations. Alot of wipes actually can be missed in scores because of this even on bosses if someone dies and releases before the rest of the party.
