Beacon duration still buggy

  • What is your character name in New World: Theraya
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Evonium
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing:
    Beacon duration doesn’t scale properly with the perks. It says it has a 10 s base duration, now you got +40% ( from Focus and + Glowing Focus perk) then + 5 Seconds from Radiance’s blessing.
    If the +40% multiplier only applies to the base duration, that would make a 14 second beacon, + 5 seconds makes a 19 second beacon.
    If you apply beacon somewhere, it says it is lasting for 19 seconds, all fine and dandy, but the effect vanishes completely with 5 seconds still on the timer. Without the Radiance’s blessing, it starts with 14 (?) seconds, but vanishes with 3 seconds still on the timer. How is this bug still in the game? I’ve read several bug reports that date back to november '21, and they didn’t even get a reply from a Mod? Seriously?

  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: it makes skilling beacon really not a great choice with the really high CD, when it doesn’t last as long as it says
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: nope, no matter how I skilled, the duration wasn’t scaling properly
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Just skill the beacon with or without Radiance’s blessing, also the duration from 200 Focus and Glowing focus, shoot the beacon and watch the beacon buff vanish with 5 seconds still on the timer.

And btw: it isn’t only a visual bug. It isn’t that it is not only shown anymore. The effect is completely gone. You don’t receive healing anymore, when the buff just vanishes with 5 seconds left.

Haven’t played heals for a bit and don’t recall this problem, could you upload a clip so the staff and others can see what you’re talking about

well I’ve recorded it, at least with the maximum duration you could get

It looks like you were getting heals for 15 seconds although numbers did stop showing up half way through, I do see you were saying it’s supposed to be 19 seconds.

Yes that is the problem. The 19 seconds seem to be the intented duration (base 10 s +40% +5 s) and it shows initially as 19 s, but vanishes into thin air with 5 s still on the clock… So no matter how you look at it, that somehow doesn’t add up :sweat_smile:
