Big December update eta?

A lot of people I know are now playing their last trump card and are bored, myself included. Bugs are fixed over time, it’s not a problem, but lack of content… Now the game is getting too boring. We can’t even find a reason to make the entry. I hope the big December update won’t be a fiasco like November. We’re waiting for this eta, is there a eta nearby? I hope dungeons (hard mode), new 1-2 weapons, new zones and arenas are included in this update. Please share an eta nearby, so let’s decide to continue with us. Good work…

I am still waiting on bug fixes (jewellery, furnishing, angry earth creatures…).
New content will be great, but I am held back by broken old content.

I don’t want to burst your bubble, but there are some things we know from beta datamining about the stuff they had planned: Void Gauntlet was the only weapon that was finished. All the other weapons merely had stuff to them, let alone skill trees etc.

There is a new zone called Brimstone Sands, which was barely finished two months ago. And then there were names for new dungeons (names, nothing else).

So I really would be very, very cautious with expecting new content in the December update. In particular when you just have to think about how bad 1.1 went and that patch didn’t have any real content either. It’s December already and the time they have for the upcoming update are two weeks. Everybody will go into holiday mode mid December until early January. So nothing is about to happen during that time.

Do you think they can properly test the December update in 1-2 weeks, especially if it contains content? I think being pessimistic right now is not unwarranted.

You’re right, the bugs weren’t completely fixed. But it will be 3 months with the interval and enough time to publish new content. The content they presented to us was already at a level that could be approved for a maximum of 1-2 months. For the last 1 month, we continue only because we believe in the future. I hope this future doesn’t get any further…

We don’t need a single new feature. Just fix what is already broken. There will be plenty of time to add a gazillion new bugs with anything new.

Our teams that develop content and fix bugs said separately. In other words, if the team that developed this content has been doing their job for 3 months, they must have completed some things. If they start the process in PTR soon, they will gain a trial period of 2-3 weeks. If we say 2 weeks or forcibly 3 weeks, it should be quite enough to test and fix new content. If the total number of employees is not 10 or 20, of course :))

Please fix old before making new…piling shit on top of shit is still a pile of shit, putting shit on top of a pile of gold is still worth a fortune. (Bit of an overstatement but you get the idea)

Bug fix and development teams are separate, my friend, I wrote that above. These are amazon games’ own words. Errors will always occur and the team that fixes them will work separately. It’s their job to fix the shit you said. The ingredient team? they have no reason to wait

Fair enough, delay the updates to allow for the bug team to catch up because any update will increase their work load and they are already behind

And after a month you only have 30k players left…lol!

It’s not enough time. Other MMORPG developers take several weeks to test their content. Elder Scrolls Online has a 4 week testing period for their content. That’s not much and players usually complain about it a lot, because not much changes. World of Warcraft is testing their bigger content updates for 3 months on their PTR. Final Fantasy XIV has an excellent internal testing and their patches mostly are pretty bug-free and flawless.

You cannot test new content within 1 or 2 weeks and evaluate feedback and then iterate on that feedback. 3 weeks is also very, very generous with Christmas just being 25 days away. So even if they get up the PTR for the December patch, they only have two weeks for PTR testing. Nobody will bring a patch live just days away from a 2-3 week holiday break.

They have all the reason to wait. 3 months for a newly released game hardly warrants new content. The old content hasn’t worked properly since release. New content whether you’re bored or not would just be a bandaid on a bullet hole.
