I have hundreds of Rafflebone items ,what exactly are âGod Tierâ item so i can sell ?
them regular pants though
BIS doesnât exist in NW because there is no combat log and no meters. We donât actually have objective irrefutable evidence which perks are better than the other. Itâs all superficial observations, assumptions, and perception. Until we have a text export that we can parse and actually dig into the numbers and test things we donât know what is actually better than what. People see bigger numbers and assume its better than other perks when different perks affect combat in different ways.
Totally valid. Thereâs also the fact that this isnât a tab-target MMO, so individual player skill and style tends to play into this as well. Some weapons and abilities just feel right, and so one player might do more damage/healing with that build than another player.
I donât agree there - the same is always true⌠skill and ability to replicate a rotation affect output. This is why benchmarks and testing remove those variables. A Bis item isnt affected by the weilder regardless of the user the item will be best in slot it just doesnât peform to the same potential. Only in very very extreme circumstances will a different item perform better based on the userâs inadequacies.
I understand what youâre saying, and there is a lot to that. However, removing the essential auto-target mechanic that exists in a number of other MMOs means that the actual manual dexterity required to inflict damage is greater than would otherwise be the case. A musket user who canât aim quickly wonât do as much damage as one who can. A fire staff user who can anticipate where a player will be based on their movement and time their attacks that way will do more damage than one who canât. Again, Iâm not saying that BiS doesnât exist at all, but itâs not ever going to be a single item or single piece of gear, and thatâs a good thing. That means that New World is getting better at providing ways to have a great deal of build diversity, and Iâm all for it.
bis varies quite a bit from person to person, some tanks prefer bane swords, others are happy with deep root or infernus for all their tanking needs
this is one of the new swords from brim and it is quite good for skitzoâs
Iâm sorry but your wrong just because we canât quantify an item as BIS doesnât mean there isnât a BIS. We simply canât define it at the moment. Skill doesnât affect an items potential only the ability to realize that potential. BIS marks potential. If we could objectively test and log actual combat data we could quantifiably without a doubt define certain items in NW as BIS regardless of skill and build diversity. It would be definable due to how game rules enforce certain limits - you could measure performance you would know without a reason of a doubt which items are best with what perks.
I think the big reason we donât have a combat log is because we still have a great deal of perks that donât work and are bugged. If they introduced a combat log it would show just how buggy the game is ahow much doesnât opperate based on the tooltip info.
I have several outstanding quantified and verified bugs with perks that have been outstanding for months - non trivial things. Yet here instead of fixing crap thats broken we get a new auto potion we didnt even ask for. Its nonsense.
Well, I did say itâs an unpopular opinion, and that opinion hasnât changed, but good luck to you.
BiS is just very subjective in this game, and usually just comes down to 3 very desirable perks on an item. And there are a lot of desirable perks lol
also the question is, talking pve or pvp?
i guess that 90% of this topic is about a rapier with corrupted bane you talk pve?
na safe pvp ![]()
I got Wildfire Torch out of an OPR chest. From what I know thatâs pretty rare.
Idk if itâs BiS, but for me itâs good enough

OPR loot is different tbh, we know it exists and comes from OPR chests but⌠has anyone ever actually seen a named item drop from a random alligator or something like nwdb claims it does? Or do I have to hunt down the nonexistent rafflebones for a 1% chance of getting it
But there are some perks that would change the rotation though right? Like a sword that has trenchant perks vs one that doesnât.
Lol damn true.
Wildfire Torch isnât considered a bis firestaff by alot of people but it is a solid firestaff with 3 solid perks regardless.
I have one myself and was my first and only weapon upgraded to 625 and I use it all the time.
