I’ve been having issues with Black Screen since Beta (VGA shutting down and fans go maxed until PC shuts down).
Afraid of burning my computer, I gave up playing in Beta, and only returned to play when the game was launched.
In the beta I couldn’t get into the game, there was no problem in the queue that lasted hours, but then I got into the game, in less than 1 minute and there was the black screen, it happened again. However, after the game was released, it improved a lot, it still happened, but only sometimes.
Still scared, I tried everything, air conditioning in the room always on, underclock on the video card, game settings all on low, frames capped at 60fps, all video updates, reinstalled windows, apparently it was solved.
I’ve been monitoring all the information regarding the video card but I haven’t found any inconsistencies, it seems to work normally.
Over the days, and with the population of players decreasing, I thought the problem had been solved, it didn’t hang up anymore, however, since the server transfer was enabled, the problem returned.
I started to analyze what could be happening, that’s when I realized that the video card was turning off at the same time.
I play on the South America server, on the Tamag server.
The game apparently causes the problem at two times of the day, late morning and early evening. I don’t know exactly what time it is at night, but in the morning it happens around 12:35 and 12:40 Brasilia time in Brazil. This has happened 3 times since the transfers enabled, always at the same time, I thought that 2 times are coincidence, 3 are not. Since then I have stopped playing around this time and come back later. It didn’t hang up anymore.
After realizing this, I believe the problem could be something related to population on the server, and/or some routine on the game servers to, I don’t know, maybe improve the game’s performance as the peak of players increases.
I don’t blame the game, but I believe the game exploits some video card drive failure. I loved the game, and would like to play it without fear.
